Assault with a Deadly Weapon Felony Charges In Stabbing |

Sonora, CA... On 5/7/15 about 1:00 A.M. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies were dispatched to the AM/PM Gas Station on Mono Way near Standard Road on a report of a stabbing victim in a vehicle. Deputies arrived and met with the 22 year old female victim. The victim had a stab wound in the area of her right thigh. The victim explained that she is an employee of Roaslinda’s Gentlemen’s Club in Jamestown. She had a verbal argument with a fellow female employee, which escalated into a physical altercation. Suicide On Lyons Reservoir Road |

Sonora, CA....If you saw law enforcement and emergency personnel activity earlier near Lyons Reservoir Road there was a suicide in that area. We normally don't report on these but thought we should as it is a stark reminder to be aware of our friends and neighbors. They may be struggling under weights they feel they can no longer bear... |

Tioga & Glacier Point Roads in Yosemite National Park Temporarily Closed |

Yosemite, CA...The Tioga Road and Glacier Point Roads in Yosemite National Park are temporarily closed due to snow and icy conditions. A storm system in the area necessitated the temporary closure. The park is currently receiving snow at the higher elevations...

Heavy Fire Equipment Operator Training Happens within TCU |

San Andreas - The CAL FIRE Academy (Ione), in coordination with the Tuolumne- Calaveras Unit (TCU), is conducting Heavy Fire Equipment Operator (HFEO) Training west of Angels Camp, along the east side of Fowler Peak Lookout. The training started April 20, 2015, and will run through June 26, 2015.

Pinecrest, CA...Due to an incoming storm to hit the area, the California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will close Sonora Pass (State Route 108) at Kennedy Meadows today (May 6, 2015) at 4:00 p.m. Caltrans will reopen the pass once weather permits and crews make the necessary repairs to the roads...

Fire Update...Fire Destroys Mobile Home |

Tuolumne, CA...Firefighters are still on scene of what was described as a fully involved mobile home fire. Firefighters were able to keep the fire contained to residence without it spreading to vegetation. There were no injuries as TCU Command said the residents were not home at the time of the fire.

Fire Update...Vegetation Fire Near Montezuma Juncion Area Along Hwy 108 |

Jamestown, CA....Firefighters are working a vegetation fire near Montezuma Junction on Hwy 108. Things are getting brown and starting to run at lower elevations. Update...TCU command says the fire is 6-8 acres and forward progress has been stopped. Let's be careful out there and permits are required as of today.... |

Fire Update...Structure Fire Near Sr49 / Parrotts Ferry Rd |

Sonora, CA....Firefighters are on scene and CHP is working traffic control near a structure fire near Sr49 / Parrotts Ferry Rd. Please use caution in the area.... Update as of 9:44pm...more units inbound and TCU command has issued a "move up and cover" order to balance out resources in the unit as this incident is worked...Update...Main house at Union Hill Inn burned. At fire peak up to 40 fire fighters from various agencies were on scene. The main house was severely damaged. Cal-Fire TCU has confirmed no injuries but main house and an adjacent building were a complete loss. They had engines on scene throughout the night...

Cigarettes & Car Keys Lead to Stabbing |

Sonora, CA...On 4/28/15 about 6:00 A.M. Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Deputies met with the 44 year old female victim at Sonora Regional Medical Center. The victim had lacerations to both her hands, and her abdomen. The victim related to the Deputies that she had been “stabbed” by an acquaintance, 58 year old Bobbi Ann Burkes. The incident occurred at a residence in the 19000 block of Serrano Road.
