Detwiler Fire Afternoon Update, 70,096 acres, 10% contained, 45 Structures Burned, 6 Damaged, 1,500 Threatened, 3,181 Personnel Working Fire

Posted by: thepinetree on 07/20/2017 03:36 PM
Mariposa, CA...Enough of the details have changed and also updated maps that have been released prompted us to do an afternoon update on the fire. We will also do one later tonight as well. The acreage increased due to an increase in fire activity late yesterday afternoon. Overnight, fire crews continued their work to establish and reinforce containment lines. The fire area is seeing poor humidity recoveries at night allowing the fire to remain very active throughout this time. The fire is burning in drought stricken chaparral and in an area of severe tree mortality. Damage assessment crews are on scene to evaluate and inspect the area. Power lines supplying power to Yosemite National Park continue to be threatened.
