Guardrail Work On Hwy 49 From Harvard Mine Road to Rolling Hills Road

Jamestown – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on northbound and southbound State Route 49 from Harvard Mine Road to Rolling Hills Road for guardrail work. Crews will be working Sunday, May 14, 2017, through Friday, May 19, 2017, from 9:00 p.m. until 7:00 a.m. Motorists should expect 10 minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

Sonora Is Ready For The Annual Mother Lode Round Up Parade

Sonora, CA...On Saturday, May 13th, 2017 City of Sonora will be hosting the annual Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Posse, Mother Lode Round-Up Parade. This event will bring thousands of visitors to the downtown area of Sonora. Several streets will be closed before and during the parade, so people need to plan ahead if they are attending the parade or trying to get through town during the parade. Detours will be posted for those streets that will be closed. The following are the major street closures: South Washington Street between Restano Way and Highway 108 will be closed at 8:00 am. North Washington Street at Snell/Elkin to South Washington Street at Restano Way will be closed at 9:30 a.m. All side streets between Stewart Street and Green Street will be closed at 9:30 a.m. Portions of Snell Street and School Street will also be closed at this time. Westbound Mono Way traffic will be detoured onto Stewart Street at Restano Way. Vehicle traffic seeking access to Stockton Road will need to use Highway 108.

Sonora, CA...Sonora Regional Medical Center’s 21st Annual Golf Classic will be held on Wednesday, June 14 at Saddle Creek Resort in Copperopolis. All proceeds from the tournament go toward funding Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Project HOPE, a free mobile health clinic serving people in the community who typically do not have health insurance. The clinic is available Tuesdays and Thursdays between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. at the Crossroads Shopping Center in Sonora, except the second Tuesday of each month when it is at Interfaith.

Caltrans Crews Pushing East To Clear Snow Covered Sierra Passes

Arnold, CA...Caltrans District 10 gave the following update yesterday on their progress. "The gate at the Mt. Reba turnoff remains closed, and that is as far as folks can go by vehicle. After removing snow on SR-4 near Lake Alpine, a Caltrans' maintenance crew saw that a washout had occurred, the result of a culvert being plugged this past winter. The culvert was cleared, the structural repairs have been made and the road is scheduled to be patched this week. Once repairs are complete, the goal is to continue moving east and open SR-4 to the east end of Lake Alpine by the end of this week. Of course, weather, resources, road conditions and other factors always play a role in the progress of clearing mountain passes.
