Probation Search Lands Trio Back in Jail on Felony Charges

Sonora, CA...On Tuesday afternoon the High Risk Probation Team and the Tuolumne Narcotics Team conducted a probation search at the Tamarron Mobile Estates located on Mono Way in Sonora. During a search of the home belonging to 58-old- Lindon Hill, 54-year-old Sandra Cole and 46-year-old Rodney Kulp, several items consistent with narcotics sales were located such as a scale, small plastic baggies and approximately 26 grams of methamphetamine. The three were arrested and transported to the Tuolumne County Jail.

WWII Era Grenades, Mortar Rounds & Ordnance Rendered Safe By Calaveras Bomb Squad

La Grange, CA...Tuolumne County Sheriff's Deputies received assistance from The Calaveras Bomb Squad yesterday morning at the Lake Don Pedro Storage Facility in La Grange to remove items of military ordnance. The WWII era explosives were found by a woman cleaning out the unit of her deceased father.

Garage Destroyed and Home Damaged in Early Morning Sonora Fire

Sonora, CA....From the Sonora Police Dept. on structure fire this morning...A residential fire broke out in the city limits just before 0600 hrs this morning in the area of E Bald Mountain Rd and Park Ln. The fire completely destroyed the garage and partially burnt the house. Residents were home no one was injured. Fire crews have the fire under control at this time.

Five Year Old Michael Boesen has Succumbed to Injuries Sustained in October 17th Collision

Coulterville, CA...On October 17, 2017, at approximately 6:18 pm, 28 year old Coulterville resident, Sarah Cahoon, was driving a 2002 Mazda MPV, eastbound on State Route 132, west of Piney Creek Road, at an unknown speed. Cahoon allowed her vehicle to travel over the right shoulder and up an embankment south of the road edge. Cahoon's vehicle then overturned multiple times back onto the roadway. Cahoon was not wearing a seat belt and was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then rolled over Cahoon before it came to rest back on its wheels. Cahoon was pronounced deceased at the scene of the collision. 5 year old passenger, Michael Boesen, was also not wearing a seat belt and was thrown approximately 50 feet from the vehicle. Boesen was flown to UC Davis to be treated for major injuries. 9 year old passenger, Jasmin Povio, was wearing a seatbelt at the time of the collision and only sustained minor injuries. This collision is still under investigation. Alcohol is suspected to be a factor, autopsy pending.

Minimum-Security Inmate Who Walked Away from North Kern State Prison Believed to be in Tuolumne County

Sonora, CA...Deputies have located a stolen vehicle on Jamestown Road that Daniel Salazar was said to have escaped the Fire Camp in. The vehicle was unoccupied and parked on the side of the road. Deputies are searching the area. Please call the Sheriff's Office if you see him at 209-533-5815 or 9-1-1. Salazar was sentenced to three years and eight months in prison for second-degree robbery and using another person's ID. Salazar is described as a 30-year-old Hispanic male with short black hair, hazel eyes and weighing approximately 185 pounds. His picture is in the flyer below.

Lancaster Woman Injured in Early Morning Hwy 49 Collision

Coulterville, CA...On Friday, November 3, 2017, at approximately 4:23 am, 22 year old Groveland resident, Lashawn Nolen II, was driving a 1992 Mazda Navajo, northbound on State Route 49, south of Crown Lead Road, at approximately 25-35 mph. For unknown reasons, Mr. Nolen allowed his vehicle to travel to the left over the solid double yellow lines. Mr. Nolen then swerved to the right and his vehicle struck a rocky embankment. The vehicle careened off of the rocky embankment and overturned twice coming to rest back on the road.

Caltrans Scheduled to Close Sierra Passes in Advance of Approaching Storm

Stockton, CA... The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) is scheduled to close State Routes 4, 108 and 120 in the Sierra Nevada today, Thursday, November 2, due to incoming inclement weather. The closures are planned as follows (subject to change depending on actual conditions): State Route 4 (Ebbetts Pass) from Lake Alpine to gate #3 (west of Silver Creek campground) at 12:00 p.m. (noon). State Route 108 (Sonora Pass) from Kennedy Meadows to the east side winter closure gate (west of Pickle Meadows) at 11:59 p.m. (midnight). The partial reopening of these routes is dependent upon favorable weather.

Trick or Treaters Were Fine But Flashlight to the Head Renders Man Unconscious

Soulsbyville, CA...Last night, Deputies responded to the 20000 block of Willow Springs Drive near the old Willow Springs market for a report of an unconscious man in the roadway. The caller believed the man had been hit by a vehicle. Deputies arrived on scene and found a 28-year-old man laying in the roadway unconscious. Based on witness statements, the 28-year-old man had confronted a 19-year-old man for revving his vehicle's engine. The 28-year-old man punched the 19-year-old through the open driver side window.
