Domestic Violence Arrest in Sonora |

Sonora, CA....On 03-06-18, around 11:00 p.m., Sonora Police Department officers responded to the area of Bulwer Street and South Washington Street for a report of a domestic violence incident. Through their investigation, officers discovered that Devon Leigh Martin, age 25 of Sonora, grabbed his ex-girlfriend by the arms during an argument on 03-04-18, causing minor injury to her shoulder. It was also learned that Martin and his ex-girlfriend were involved in another physical disturbance in front of Winters Tavern on 03-05-18. Immediately following this incident, Martin scratched the side of his ex-girlfriend's vehicle with a knife, causing damage estimated to be in excess of $1,000.

Sonora Man Arrested For DUI After 80 mph Crash Into Grove of Oak Trees |

Ione, CA...Early this morning a 22 year old Sonora man was driving his Mazda on SR-88 eastbound at a stated speed of 80mph. Due to his intoxication he allowed the Mazda to veer so the south from the roadway and onto the dirt shoulder. In addition to his failure to maintain his vehicle within the right lane, the Mazda continued into and collided with a grove of small oak trees. After the impact he was extricated of his vehicle by Good Samaritans.

Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept, Search & Rescue, CHP & Pinecrest Fire Help Locate & Rescue Lost Snowmobilers |

Pinecrest, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."Sunday night, Tuolumne County Search & Rescue personnel responded to the Snow Park off Hwy 108 for a report of two lost snowmobiles. Three people, two men and one woman, left out of the Snow Park riding two snowmobiles yesterday at around 1 PM. Their plan was to ride to Dardanelle and back, staying on Highway 108. About 2 hours into the ride, the party became separated and one man continued ahead at a higher speed. The other two people, who were riding together; became stuck in the snow near Eagle Meadows road. The woman, identified as Lynette Johnson, 37 years old, began walking back to the Snow Park alone. Johnson was eventually picked up by another citizen on a snowmobile and was given a ride back to the Snow Park. A 911 call was placed to the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office asking for assistance.

"Magic Mushrooms” Didn't Prevent Man from Being Arrested. |

Jamestown, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office...Yesterday evening, an alert Deputy Sheriff on patrol in Jamestown noticed a man, later identified as 50-year-old Paul Thomas Smith, trying to suspiciously conceal his rear license plate with his body while pumping gas at a Jamestown gas station. The deputy checked the front license plate and discovered the vehicle’s registration was suspended and expired.

Arnold, CA...The chain control situation is as follows. Hwy 88 is closed temporarily at Carson Spur for Avalanche Control. Hwy 4 is clear but carry chains. Hwy 108 has controls in place starting at Pinecrest & Hwy 120 is clear.

Arnold, CA...Caltrans has been making quick work of the latest snow layers on our local highways. From North to South...Hwy 88 is clear and without controls, Hwy 4 has controls from Arnold on up, Hwy 108 has controls from Long Barn on up & Hwy 120 is clear. Conditions can change quickly and carry chains, warm clothing and even a blanket or two just in case you need to spend a few hours in your vehicle if you have an incident or breakdown.
