High Country Spa & Stove Center has been family owned and operated since 1983, we are the premier hot tub, stove and fireplace source in Calaveras, Tuolumne and Amador counties. Bill Deplitch is a general contractor and built many homes in the Arnold area from the late 70's to the early 90's. Today, along with his wife Barbara, they run High Country Spa and Stove Center along with their son Zachary who is the "go-to" service manager. High Country Spa and Stove Center brings to the table a wealth of valuable construction experience. It is this experience that sets them apart from the rest. In addition to retail services, their background in building enables them to tackle an entire project from decks and hot tub enclosures to remodels.

Sonora, CA... Earlier this year Sonora Regional Medical Center’s Foundation Office welcomed Kara Turpen as its Manager of Philanthropy. Turpen came to the Medical Center from Rocky Mountain Adventist Healthcare Foundation (RMAHF) in Denver, Colorado, where she held increasingly responsible positions at their foundation before leaving to join SRMC. She received her bachelor’s degree in public relations from Southern Adventist University and holds a Certified Fund Raising Executive credential.

Caltrans Starts Spring Clearing Of Mountain Passes |

Stockton, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has launched its spring clearing of State Route 108 (SR-108) over Sonora Pass and SR-89 over Monitor Pass, as maintenance crews will be kept busy removing snow, clearing debris, inspecting the roadway and making the appropriate improvements to ensure the public’s safety. The Department intends to open the closure gates at Eagle Meadows and Kennedy Meadows after reaching those points on SR-108. Caltrans will announce each gate opening as it occurs.

Physician Appointment Wait Times Up Nationwide – 30 percent increase from 2014 |

Sonora, CA...A new survey released this month by Merritt Hawkins, a national physician search firm, has found a 30 percent increase from 2014 to 2017 in the average wait time to schedule a new patient physician appointment in 15 of the largest cities in the nation. “Physician appointment wait times are the longest they have been since we began conducting the survey,” said Mark Smith, president of Merritt Hawkins. “Growing physician appointment wait times are a significant indicator that the nation is experiencing a shortage of physicians.”

The historic park offers a great place to celebrate the holiday with an egg hunt for children, train rides behind a historic diesel locomotive, hands-on crafts and an opportunity to meet the Easter bunny. To accommodate the various ages of children, there will be an egg hunt for ages 4 and under, one for ages 5 to 7 and another for ages 8 to 11. With special activities happening all day long, the egg hunt begins at 9:30 a.m. and excursion train rides behind 1952 Baldwin Whitcomb No.1265 historic diesel locomotive depart at 10:30 a.m., noon, 1:30 p.m. and 3 p.m.
