Missing Hiker Found Safe In Yosemite National Park |

Yosemite, CA...Alan Chow, the hiker missing in Yosemite National Park since Tuesday, February 20, has been found safe today. Chow, who was backpacking alone, was spotted from a National Park Service helicopter around Noon today above Wapama Fall in the Hetch Hetchy area after an extensive search the past several days. . He was transported to the Hetch Hetchy Ranger Station where he is doing well. Chow sustained minor injuries and has been reunited with family members

Murphys, CA...In another very happy ending to a local lost dog story. The NCPS's Sandy Rainey passed this along to us. "The Pine Tree News: FYI……………Yesterday, one of our employees, Steven Popish found the two dogs on the Tuolumne side of the river just south of McKays dam. We contacted the owners, who picked up the dogs yesterday. Note: They were very cold and very hungry. Good ending to the story."

Wanted Man on the Run in Tuolumne… |

Tuolumne, CA...Deputy V. Lee conducted a traffic enforcement stop on a black Chevrolet Tahoe on Yosemite Road at Hershey Road West in Tuolumne early this morning. There were three people in the SUV. Deputy Lee spotted a gun in the SUV just as 25-year-old Alexandro Xavier (pictured in this post) ran from the front passenger seat. Xavier is wanted on a Tuolumne County traffic warrant, San Joaquin County warrants for drug charges, and an Escalon Police Department warrant for a weapons charge. Deputies gave chase when it was safe to do so, but came up empty handed.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept...Apple users need to be aware of an ongoing phishing campaign that appears to be ramping up efforts the past couple days. Scammers have found a clever way to generate phishing websites and they're after your Apple ID and password. Tuolumne County residents have reported receiving numerous calls within the past few days from several people working under the pretense of Apple Inc.
