Glacier Point Road in Yosemite National Park Now Open

Yosemite, CA...Yosemite National Park announces the Glacier Point Road will open to all vehicular traffic at 9:00 am on Saturday, April 28, 2018. There will be limited visitor services available at Glacier Point. There is no projected opening date for the Glacier Point store or the Bridalveil Creek Campground. The Four Mile Trail is open from Yosemite Valley to Glacier Point.

Sonora, CA...On Thursday April 26, 2018 at approximately 11:50 pm, 22 year Winton resident, Edgar Albert Santana, was driving a 2010 Dodge Avenger, traveling westbound on State Route 108, east of Old Wards Ferry over crossing, following behind a 2016 Toyota Prius at approximately 40-50 mph. At this time, a 2002 Ford F-150 was traveling eastbound on State Route 108, east of Old Wards Ferry over crossing. Santana drove over the solid double yellow lines into the eastbound lane to pass the Prius, directly into the path of the Ford F-150. The left front of Santana's vehicle collided head-on with the Ford F-150 in the eastbound lane.

Felon Receives Additional Charges After Search Warrant.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept....A search warrant served at the home of a felon, lands him in jail with additional charges. On Tuesday evening the Tuolumne Narcotics Team served a search warrant at 45-year-old Sean Burdan's home on Ayba Street in Sonora.
Columbia College Fire Academy Graduation Tonight at 6pm

Columbia, CA...The Columbia College Fire Academy will hold its graduation ceremony and presentation of certificates to 25 students who successfully completed the Fire Technology Program this spring. The event, which is open to the general public, will be held Thursday, April 26, 2018 beginning at 6 p.m. in the Oak Pavilion at the college.

Reporter Will Heryford joined us for a ride along to document seasonal clearing on this scenic route. Once the snow is cleared, there is lots of other work that needs to be done. Prior to opening the roadway for public use, the pavement is repaired, cracks are sealed and the roadway is re-striped. Twain Harte, CA...On Sunday evening Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a home on Teague Lane in Twain Harte for a report of a burglary. When the homeowner arrived at the residence, a red Chevrolet S10 Blazer was seen leaving the property. The homeowner was familiar with the Blazer and knew it belonged to 68-year-old Randy Gulizia. The door to the garage had been kicked in and numerous items had been stolen.
Sonora, CA...From the Sonora Police Dept....On 04/24/2018 Officers from the Sonora Police Department with assistance for the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office attempted to locate Edward Cooper at a home on Norlin Street in Sonora. Cooper had several outstanding warrants for his arrest, which include Vehicle Theft, Probation Violations and Obstructing or Resisting Police Officers. Upon seeing officers, Cooper fled on foot leading officers on a short foot chase which ended on Green Street. Cooper was cornered by TCSO K9 Maverick and Officers from the Sonora Police Department and Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office.

Twain Harte, CA...From the Tuolumne County Sheriff's Dept....Many of you heard sirens and saw police activity yesterday evening near Black Oak Casino in Tuolumne. Just before 5 PM, Sheriff’s Deputies responded to a disturbance at a home on Golf Club Drive in Twain Harte. It was reported that 66-year-old David Mussenden forced open a locked door to a fellow neighbor’s home to steal truck keys. When he could not find them he forced his way into the the man’s RV and attempted to hit the him with a lamp before taking the keys to a 1999 gray Ford Ranger.
