Subaru vs Home on Parrotts Ferry Leads to Arrest of Murphys Man

Columbia, CA...On April 18, 2018, at approximately 8:55 pm, a 26 year old Murphys resident, was driving a 2007 Subaru Forester northbound on Parrotts Ferry Road, north of Porcina Way at approximately 30-35 MPH, while under the influence of alcohol. Due to his high level of alcohol intoxication, as he entered a right hand curve in the roadway, he allowed the Subaru to run off of the road, through a fence and collide with a residence at 23732 Parrotts Ferry Road. The Subaru overturned onto its right side. The driver stayed on scene and awaited CHP arrival. He was transported via ambulance to Adventist Health Sonora to be treated for minor injuries and was subsequently booked at the Tuolumne County Jail. The occupants at the residence were not harmed.
Downed Tree Blocks Parrotts Ferry & Community Helps Open Roadway Back Up

Columbia, CA...From the Sonora area CHP...."Approx 8:15 pm, we received a report of a tree down blocking Parrotts Ferry Road approximately one mile north of Marble Quarry Road. Upon arriving on scene, it was discovered that the tree was approximately 3 feet in diameter and was completely blocking the roadway. A passing lumberjack was quick to provide assistance, cutting the tree into large portions and dragging them out of the way. The good citizens of Tuolumne and Calaveras counties were quick to lend their assistance in removing large limbs from the road and raking and shoveling debris.

Jamestown, CA...From Sonora CHP...On Monday, April 16, just after 3:25 am, CHP officers observed a black Jeep Cherokee traveling westbound SR-120/108 west of Obyrnes Ferry Road at a high rate of speed, its rear taillights were not working and its rear license plate was missing. The officers attempted to make an enforcement stop and the vehicle failed to yield to the emergency lights and siren. A pursuit ensued traversing several county roads. The Jeep was all over the road and even ran off of the road a few times. The Jeep slowed and before coming to a complete stop, both occupants exited and fled on foot. Since the Jeep was still in motion, the officers were unable to immediately pursue the fleeing suspects.
Copperopolis Burglary Suspects Captured in Tuolumne County

Copperopolis., CA...On 4-16-18 the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office responded to a report of a commercial burglary at the True Value store on Spangler Lane in Copperopolis. In reviewing video surveillance, deputies saw that at approx. 0315 hours, a black Jeep Cherokee with no license plates smashed into the glass door of the business. Two occupants of the vehicle then entered the store and stole various Stihl products including chain saws, rototiller, and a cement saw. The subjects then fled the area. Calaveras deputies shared a Be-On-The-Lookout alert to surrounding agencies for the commercial burglary suspects.

Arnold, CA...Caltrans has chain controls in effect on Hwys 4, 88 & 108. Basically past Arnold on Hwy 4, Ham's Station up on Hwy 88 & Twain Harte up on Hwy 108. Let's be careful out there...
