Elusive Bovine in Twain Harte Area |

Twain Harte, CA...From Sonora CHP...Since Saturday the CHP has been receiving calls of a loose cow in or near the roadway. This cow has worked its way down from the Twain Harte area and is currently off Cherokee Road near Carol Lane. Please drive cautiously if in the area.

Copperopolis, CA...Last week, Adventist Health Sonora’s Foundation held the 22nd annual Golf Classic at Saddle Creek Golf Resort. It was a beautiful day for the 115 golfers who enjoyed 18 holes, lunch and an awards banquet. The tournament and contest winners were:

Columbia, CA...Traffic Update....Two Tan & Black Cows Walking Towards Sr49 / Pedro Y. Rumor has it that these two heard of the exploits of Betsy, the "Don't fence me in" bovine from Twain Harte who has been posting on herd media how great life on the lamb is. She even posted a selfie yesterday before she made her escape from CHP and those dastardly brand inspectors.

Moderate Injuries for Vallecito Woman in Hwy 49 Collision |

Sonora, CA...On Tuesday, June 26, 2018, at approximately 1:15 pm, Marianne Gates was driving a 2001 Mercedes Benz C320, northbound on State Route 49 approaching Springfield Road. For unknown reasons, Gates allowed the vehicles right side tires to travel off of the roadway onto the dirt shoulder. Gates over corrected and unsafely turned to the left losing control of her vehicle. The vehicle traveled over both lanes of traffic and went off of the west road edge and down a steep embankment, overturning several times. The vehicle came to rest on the driver's side.

Moccasin, CA...Flat Fire Incident from June 25, 2018 at 6:28 am. Date/Time Started: June 24, 2018 1:54 pm near Hwy 49 & Marshes Flat Rd, in the Community of Moccasin. Acres Burned - Containment: 162 acres - 35% contained. Forward spread stopped. No structures lost and all evacuations have been lifted.

Sonora, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Office..."Today, at 4:16 pm, the Sheriff's Office received a "hold-up" alarm from the BBVA Compass Bank, located in the Junction Shopping Center on Mono Way in Sonora. The alarm was accompanied by multiple 911 calls providing information. Sheriff's deputies arrived on scene within minutes to find the suspect still inside the bank.

Moccasin, CA...(Update as of 2:15 from CalFire...Firefighters continue to aggressively fight the #flatfire in Tuolumne County. The fire is currently 120 acres.) (Update...Animal control is assisting residents with the evacuation of livestock. If you need assistance evacuating livestock contact the Sheriff's Office at 209-533-5815.) (***UPDATE*** 1:59pm -CalFire has multiple aircraft actively working toward containment. No update on containment percentages at this time..) Fire personnel and Sheriff’s Deputies are on scene of a fire approximately 60 acres in size on HWY 49 Moccasin. HWY 49 at 120 is currently closed to through traffic. Please follow this post for updates information. Evacuations will be posted as soon as areas are addressed.
