Help ATCAA Fill The Bowls at Their Inaugural Empty Bowls Event |

Jamestown, CA...Join the ATCAA Food Bank to help raise awareness and provide help for people in our community who are hungry. The first annual Empty Bowls event, a fundraising concept that is internationally recognized will be held at the Food Bank warehouse on September 29th at 5:30pm. For $35 per person, join us for a simple meal of soup, bread, salad and dessert. Presentation, raffle, live auction and a performance by Summerville High’s Jazz@8 choir is also on the menu. Beer and wine available for purchase. Take home an “Empty Bowl” hand decorated by local elementary students. Go to ATCAA.org to purchase tickets or call the Food Bank at 984-3960 x104. Hurry! Seating is extremely limited. Together we can help end hunger in Tuolumne County.

Stanislaus National Forest Revises Closure Order for Donnell Fire |

Sonora, CA...Stanislaus National Forest Deputy Supervisor Scott Tangenberg signed forest order STF-16-2018-15, further revising the forest areas closed due to the Donnell Fire. Campgrounds and day use areas on Highway 108 east of Donnell Vista remain closed, but OHV recreation areas, trails and roads near Niagara Creek are now open to visitors. In addition, trails and areas west of Highland and Weiser creeks on Calaveras Ranger District are now open. This revised closure is based on the current and expected fire behavior and safety concerns due to prior fire activity. It will be in effect until Dec. 31, 2018, or until replaced or rescinded.

Angels Camp, CA...During our webcast last night the Bret Harte lost Friday's home conference game against Sonora by a score of 47-7. Argonaut took Friday's home conference game against Summerville 28-0. Calaveras tomahawked Amador in a close home win 29 - 27. We have complete game video from our webcast below of the Bret Harte vs Sonora. Also included is the last quarter of the JV game where Sonoro went home with a victory as well.

Sierra Village, CA...From the Tuolumne Sheriff's Dept..."We’re happy to report, a stolen car has been returned to its owner and the thief is in the Tuolumne County Jail. On Saturday morning, our office received a BOL(Be on the Lookout) notification out of Tracy regarding a stolen white 2014 Honda Accord that may be headed to our county.

Investigation Leads to Arrest of a Sonora man for Child-Related Sex Crimes. |

Sonora, CA...After several months of investigating, detectives from the Tuolumne County Sheriff’s Office Investigations Division obtained a search warrant for a home in Sonora. Deputies arrested 75-year-old Robin Awalt for numerous child-related sex crimes including manufacturing child pornography. Several devices were taken from Awalt’s home for further investigation and he was booked into the Tuolumne County Jail.

Felony Domestic Violence and Resist/Obstructing Officer During Arrest in Sonora |

Sonora, CA...On September 19, 2018, at about 2000 hrs, Officers responded to 578 West Stockton Street for a report of a subject wanted for charges of felony domestic violence charges. It was believed the suspect was inside the business of Throttle Jockeys. It had been reported to the police department the subject, Adric Robert White had choked his girlfriend to the point it popped blood vessels in her eye and left bruises on her neck.
