Tuloumne County, CA...Official Press Release from Tuolumne County Sheriffs Department....On August 16, 2008, at approximately 11:25 A.M., Emergency personnel were summoned to a possible drowning at Rainbow Pools, a popular swimming destination east of Groveland CA. When emergency personnel arrived, Family had located the victim and CPR was started. The victim was identified as 33 Year Old Arlo Roberts from Turlock CA....

Columbia, CA...On August 17, 2008, at approximately 1220 A.M. a Los Angeles Sheriff’s Office SAR Team, specialized in Mine Rescues, arrived to assist Tuolumne County SAR with the Rescue of Darvis Lee Jr. At approximately 0215 A.M., Mine Rescuers were able to contact Lee and were preparing him for the rescue. Lee was extricated from the mine at approximately 0550 A.M. by the Search and Rescue teams...

On August 16, 2008, at approximately 10:30 A.M., Tuolumne County Sheriff’s and Tuolumne County SAR was dispatched to a reported mine rescue in the 21000 Block of Jack Page Rd., located outside the City of Sonora CA. Sheriff’s SAR Coordinator Cpl. Kelly Dickson responded to the area. He made contact with the reporting party, who were the victim’s parents and an unidentified friend. The victim is 34 year old Darvis Lee Jr., from Sonora CA. ....

Deceased Body Found Near Cleo's Path in the Pinecrest Lake Area

Pinecrest Lake, CA....On August 14, 2008, a subject attempting to locate a cell phone signal to make a call for help for an injured hiker; reported they saw a possible deceased person, near Cleo’s Bath, in the Pinecrest lake area. After assisting the injured person, Pinecrest Fire Department responded to the remote area and confirmed that the Gleason was deceased.....

Tuolumne City, CA....A few Citizens called the Sheriff’s Office on August 14, 2008 in regards to their vehicles being rummaged through, in the Tuolumne City area. A few of the victims also had personal items taken from their vehicle. This is a reminder that Vehicle burglaries and thefts are mostly a crime of opportunity. Three Fires Reported in Tuolumne County over the Holiday Weekend

Tuolumne County, CA....CAL Fire has reported three fires that occurred over the holiday weekend in Tuolumne County. The first was a 1 acre vegetation fire that occurred on July 4th at 4200 La Grange and Bonds Flat in Tuolumne County. No injuries or dollar damage reported. Cause is undetermined. The second occurred on July 5th at 18097 Lime Kiln Road in Sonora that burned a 1995 Jayco 5th Wheel trailer due to an electrical short. The trailer was not occupied. The third occurred on July 5th at Brentwood Lake in Twain Harte. It was a small grass fire that was caused by BBQ coals being dumped into a debris pile. No injuries or dollar damage reported.
