Stop For Altered Registration Tags Leads To Multiple Arrests |

Sonora, CA...On Sunday, February 19th around 2:45 PM, Deputy Sandelin conducted a traffic stop on Quail Mine Road near Big Hill Road in Sonora. The blue 1998 VW Passat displayed a 2017 registration sticker that appeared to be tampered with. DMV records confirmed the vehicle’s registration to have been expired since 2015. The driver, 43 year old Hubbard Wilson, was driving on a suspended driver’s license, had no proof of insurance, had expired vehicle registration, and displayed a false registration tag on the vehicle.

Stanislaus County – Due to volatile changes in forecasts for upcoming storms, Turlock Irrigation District is making preparations to open the Controlled Spillway Gates at Don Pedro Reservoir as early as – BUT NO EARLIER THAN – 3 p.m. on Monday, February 20, 2017. Landowners, growers and those living along the Tuolumne River, out of an abundance of caution, should undertake necessary steps to protect their property and livestock as Tuolumne River levels will rise quickly.

Bonds Flat Road Closed |

La Grange, CA...Bonds Flat Road is closed this morning. Workers are preparing to cut into the roadway so the spillway gates can be opened. Guard rails and culvert pipe will be removed so it does not wash down stream. This is the second time spillway gates have been used. 1997 was the first.

Sonora, CA...Forest officials closed Cottonwood Road, known as Forest Route 1N04, between the intersections with Thompson Meadow (FR 2N13) and Reed Creek (FR 3N01S) due to numerous landslides and pavement failures.

The Big Oak Flat Road In Yosemite National Park Will Be Closed Nightly |

Yosemite National Park, CA...The Big Oak Flat Road in Yosemite National Park (Hwy 120) will be closed daily from 6:00 pm to 6:00 am between Crane Flat and Foresta due to storm-related road damage. These closures will remain in effect from Friday, February 17, 2017 until at least Tuesday, February 21, 2017. Visitors entering Yosemite from the Big Oak Flat entrance will not have access to Yosemite Valley during the closure hours. Due to the condition of the road, it is not safe for nighttime vehicular travel.
