Mokelumne Hill Resident, William "Zack" Park Passed Away at Age 67 |

Mokelumne Hill, CA.....William "Zack" Park passed away on March 12, 2010, of Natural Causes. He was 67. He is survived by his daughter, Vanessa Park of Santa Cruz, CA and one grandchild. "My father entered into rest on 3/12/10 at 9:20am at age 67. He leaves behind one daughter, Vanessa a granddaughter, Kadence and many friends in the Mokelumne Hill, San Andreas and Santa Cruz areas. Zack will be remembered for his great personality, wonderful sense of humor and huge heart. We are thankful he had such wonderful friends by his side. Thank you Jane, Sis (Lori) and my mother Carole who was one of his best friends and Jerr Bear....

Longtime Mokelumne Hill Resident, Kenneth "KW" Link, Passed Away on April 11th, 2009 |

| Mokelumne Hill, CA...32 Year Resident of Mokelumne Hill, Kenneth "KW" Link, passed away on April 11th, 2009 at his residence of Natural Causes. He was 83. Mr. Link was a Retired Heavy Equipment Mechanic. A native of Oklahoma, KW grew up there and moved to Tracy in 1946, the to West Point in 1950 and settled in Mokelumne Hill in 1977 and has lived there since. He was a member if the Masonic Lodge #56 of Volcano. KW loved gardening. He is survived by his wife, Reba Link; Children, Leroy Link of Reno, NV, Jim Link of Wilseyville, CA, Sharon Thibodeaux of Pioneer, CA and Ken Link of West Point; Brothers, Starless Link, Jr. of Wilseyville and Bob Link of Claremore, OK; A Sister Wilmuth Long of Colcord, OK; 9 Grandchildren, 11 Great Grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Donna Sue Link..... |

Mokelumne Hill, CA....A Memorial will be held Saturday, January 31 at 11:00 am at the Mokelumne Hill Town Hall for Verlyn O'Neil. Please join friends and family in remembering and celebrating our special friend. The memorial will be followed immediately by a traditional Moke Hill style Chicken-In-The-Barrel and Potluck lunch at the Hall. Please bring a side dish or dessert to share. The Town Hall will be open at 9 am (and helpers available) for anyone who wishes to drop off their item early....

The event will once again be held at the Town Hall on Main Street in Mokelumne Hill. Mokelumne Hill, CA....The Mokelumne Hill Volunteer Firefighter's Association is having it's annual Fireman's Ball this year on February 14th. The ball is our biggest fundraising event. All proceeds go to the Mokelumne Hill Volunteer Fire Department. The money is used for much needed equipment, training and community assistance.

Mokelumne Hill, CA....Local artists will be lining the narrow streets and lanes of tiny Mokelumne Hill (in Calaveras County) on Saturday, October 11. No, they’re not protesting; they’ll be painting “plein air” which means painting outdoors on the spot from an easel and a nearby set of paints. The public may walk, drive, park and watch how different artists spontaneously create works using the historic gold-mining backdrop of Mokelumne Hill as their subjects.....

FIRE NEWS.......Structure Fire at 8237 Clark Street in Mokelumne Hill..CONTAINED |

Mokelumne Hill, CA....A a structure fire is being reported at 8237 Clark Street in Mokelumne Hill. Units are in route, along with Columbia Aircraft. No further information at this time. Update #1 (12:53pm) Engine 4461 was the first on scene stating that the fire has not spread to vegetation and units responding should be able to contain the fire shortly.Update #2 (1:01pm) The fire has been contained to the structure and all additional units have been cancelled. Units will continue to stay on scene sweeping up the damage of the fire. FIRE CONTAINED...

Mokelumne Hill, CA....Under the Direction of Randy Hall, The New Christy Minstrels will be in Concert on Monday October 20th at the Mokelumne Hill Town Hall. All proceeds benefit the restoration of town hall. They will also be showcasing local wines. Appetizers and dessert included. See full size poster enclosed....
