Valley Springs, CA...Crews are still working a rollover accident on Hwy 12 at Central Hill Road. An ambulance is responding. Initial reports were that there may have been a second collision as well but that has been canceled. The vehicle is on it's roof and blocking lanes. There is no indication as of yet on the extent or if there are serious injuries. Use caution in the area and we will post updates if needed. Use caution in the area...

A Valley Springs youth and two 17 year old passengers suffered minor injuries in a solo vehicle rollover collision on Sunday evening at Hwy 26 east of Milton Road. Due to an unsafe turn the driver allowed the vehicle to cross over both lanes and overturn several times. See full CHP release enclosed......
Valley Springs, CA.....Longtime Valley Springs Resident, Jack Dennis Crabtree, passed away on March 22, 2009 at his residence of Natural Causes. He was 77. A native of Cromwell, OK, Jack moved to Napa, CA in 1941 and served in the US Air Force during the Korean War in a MASH Unit. After the war he moved to Vallejo, CA in 1954, then to Santa Cruz, CA in 1963 and settled in Valley Springs in 1991. He was a member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Ione. His is survived by his wife, Dorothy Crabtree of Valley Springs; ....

Valley Springs, CA...Unfortunately we have just confirmed that Dr. Michael L. Pullen, who was a Dentist at DuHamel & Pullen Family Dental in Valley Springs, his wife, Vanessa Pullen, and children Sydney and Chris Pullen died in Sunday's tragic plane crash in Montana....

San Andreas, CA...The Flock Gym at Calaveras High School was filled with students, friends and family members yesterday afternoon honoring the Montgomery family children who lost their lives in a tragic motor vehicle accident. The gym was almost filled to capacity with those in our community to pay their respects and to say goodbye to the three young members of the Montgomery family. Tears, smiles and warm feelings flowed freely as members of the community lined up to talk about their departed friends...

San Andreas, CA...The highly controversial Trinitas Golf Course project is back front and center at the Planning Commission today. Staff is suggesting a limited approval while the developer is requesting full approval. Opponents however are seeking a complete denial of the project. The crowd is quite a bit smaller this time around as we expected. A show of hands revealed about 20 members of the public expecting to speak verses the 60 plus members of the public that spoke at the last meeting. Planning Commission Chair Suzanne Kuehl instructed those wishing to speak to limit their comments to 5 minutes. .(Update as of 1:11pm...Solomon would have been proud that the board voted 2-2 on certifying the Draft EIR. The Commission is now discussing their recommendations on the project. More to follow (Update as of 1:32pm...The Commissioners are now speaking about their opinions on the project and if the will vote for it our not. District 2 Commissioner Fawn McLaughlin spoke first and spoke about how there was no way she could be in favor of the project because in her opinion the applicant broke the laws....
Valley Springs, CA....Terry Robert Birely Ward, a longtime resident of Valley Springs, passed away at his residence on March 15th 2009 of Natural Causes. He was 80 years old. He was a Retired Security Guard. He was loved by all and will be dearly missed. He is survived by his children, David Ward of Redding; Justin Ward of Lodi and Ryan Ward of Galt; His Brothers, Carl Ward of Coarse Head, NY; and one Great Grandchild. He was preceded in death by his Brother, Bruce Ward. Private services will be held.

Sutter Hill, CA...The public hearing for EBMUD’s 2040 Plan draft EIR was scheduled to begin at 6:30 p.m. yet by ten after six there wasn’t a seat left in the Amador Water Agency Board Chambers. By 6:30 although the sky between Sutter Hill and the East Bay was a beautiful pink no one was paying attention to the sunset. Aside from the 60 plus people seated and standing inside the Amador Water Agency chambers (capacity 49), at least 40 local residents were standing either in the foyer of the chambers, at the back door or around the windows paying strict attention to the proceedings inside...
