Two Small Grass Fires Reported Over the Weekend

Calaveras County, CA........CAL Fire reported a 1/8 grass fire at 576 Main Street in Copperopolis on Friday May 30th. Cause is unknown and there were no injuries. There was a also a small spot fire at 129 Sequia Street in Valley Springs. This was caused from escaped ash from a BBQ. No injuries reported. CAL Fire reports are enclosed.....

Habitat for Humanity to Break Ground on Ninth House on Sunday June 29th

Valley Springs, CA....The public is invited to Habitat for Humanity Calaveras’ second groundbreaking of a Habitat home in the Valley Springs area. The groundbreaking ceremony is Sunday, June 29, 2008 at 2 p.m. at 3340 Botfuher Street in Rancho Calaveras. Participating in the ceremony are District 5 Supervisor Russ Thomas, and Lucy Thein, President of the Board of Directors of Habitat for Humanity Calaveras. West Point, CA....This year's Art in the Garden will be held at the Vago residence, 304 Winton Rd., West Point, CA, on Saturday, June 28th from 9 am to 5 pm. Admission is FREE. This biennial event alternates with Art in the Gardens presented by AIG in partnership with the Blue Mountain Coalition for Youth and Families. Sixteen artists will be showing and selling their art in a lovely garden setting. Burson, CA...CAL Fire is stating a Ford Model 11185 Harvester in motion was the cause of a 5 acre grass fire on May 28th at 3541 Burson Road. Damages are estimated at $1000. No injuries are reported. Fire report enclosed....
