A 75 year old Valley Springs Man was traveling westbound on SR26 at an unknown rate of speed, when due to his inattention to the roadway ahead of him, he allowed his vehicle to to travel to the right and off the paved portion of the roadway... |

Valley Springs, CA...We just heard good news for Valley Springs Residents. Supervisors Gary Tofanelli, Russ Thomas and CCWD Director Jeff Davidson have returned from a meeting in Sacramento. This meeting was in conjunction with the Corps of Engineers and has gained approval to clean brush, debris and vegetation from the flood prone areas of Cosgrove Creek. Better yet they can start in the next few months. There will be a community meeting on August 11, at 7pm in the Vets Hall in Valley Springs to go over details with the public. To gain this approval has been a multi-year, multi-agency...

Valley Springs, CA...A Longtime resident of Valley Springs, Julia K. Tarr, passed away of Natural Causes on July 4th, 2010 at the age of 79. Julia was born in Oakland. She was a resident of Valley Springs for 13 years. She was a retired Certified Nursing Assistant. Mrs. Julia Tarr was a native of Oakland, Ca. She loved to travel and the Theatre. She settled in Valley Springs, Ca and has been there for the last 11 Yrs. She will be remembered as a loving Mother & Grandmother. Preceeded in Death by her husband Clayton Tarr in 1980 and her Daughter, Janet Tarr in 1984. She is survived by her Daughters: Judy (Gary) Krantz of: Valley Springs, Ca, Laura Tarr of: Valley Springs, Ca, Linda (Robert) Hult of Idaho; A Sister, Jeanne Ryan of Valley Springs, Ca. She is also Survived by: Many Nieces and nephews.....

Valley Springs, CA...Richard Brown and Tristan Vickerman were riding on a ATV-4-Wheeler on private property. For an unknown reason, Vickerman grabbed the accelerator of the ATV. This caused Brown and Vickerman to lose control of the ATV and flip over the back. The ATV then collided with a fence. Brown sustained a moderate injury and was experiencing substantial blood loss... |

Rancho Calaveras. CA.....A 1/2 acre vegetation fire occurred at 80000 Block of Sparrowk Drive in Rancho Calaveras on July 5, 2010 at 1:33am. Cause is under investigation. FIRE NEWS......Crews Are Making Quick Work of Multiple Fires Being Set in Rancho Calaveras This Evening |

Valley Springs, CA...Multiple crews are responding to at least three or more fires in the Rancho Calaveras / Valley Springs area. One structure was threatened. These fires are possibly being intentionally set. This looks like an escalation and continuation of the fires that were set last night in the Valley Springs area. The quick work by the crews has kept the fires at bay so far.. Multiple local fire departments are moving up to cover. We just checked with CAL Fire, no suspicious vehicles have been found as of yet. The Sheriffs Office is also stating these fires could also be related to fireworks. Law Enforcement agencies are asking that if you see that any suspicious activity please call the Calaveras Sheriffs Office at 754-6500.. Update 10:54pm: Spoke to Mary Jo at CAL Fire "A total of six fires have occurred this evening....
