Angels Camp, CA...In this episode of Elémentaire TV, Jenny makes a cranberry cosmopolitan and David makes some festive roasted nuts. Elémentaire is the creation of two professional cooks dedicated to helping take the mystery out of making delicious meals from scratch. Our goal is to educate through the use of culinary terms and techniques and also inspire, through the use of the freshest seasonal ingredients, all who watch to make their own meals to enjoy at home. Every Sunday Night at 8pm we will premier another, great, new episode of Elémentaire with Jenny & Dave.

The Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program Celebrates Ten Years of Supporting Friendships and Building Community. |

Angels Camp, CA...This month, the Calaveras Youth Mentoring Program is celebrating ten years of supporting friendships and building community. Donna Shannon and Tina Miller were the first mentor and mentee matched in the Mentoring Program in 2003, and on December 18th they will celebrate their tenth anniversary as friends. “It has been a joy to witness the beauty and growth in Donna and Tina’s friendship over the years,” said Kathryn Eustis, Director of Youth Development and Prevention Programs at the Calaveras County Office of Education. “We are so grateful that they have continued to participate in and support the program all this time. How many mentoring programs get to showcase their inaugural match at their tenth anniversary?”

Valley Springs, CA....Bonnie Pliler passed away on November 29. She with her husband Larry Pliler owned Pliler & Liller Grocery Store in Valley Springs for many, many years. She had lived in Valley Springs since 1928 and marrried Larry in 1939. She graduated from Calaveras High in 1936 and attended College of Pacific in Stockton...

Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office Continues Special DUI Prosecution Program |

San Andreas, CA....Those arrested for DUI in Calaveras County, especially repeat offenders and those involved in fatal or injury crashes, can expect to face highly trained, specialized prosecutors, thanks to a grant from the California Office of Traffic Safety. The $174,310.00 grant to the Calaveras County District Attorney’s Office will fund a Vertical Prosecution team that will work cases from arrest through sentencing...

Copperopolis, CA....In 1895 James A. Tower was only 16 years old when, using barbed wire fencing, he strung the first telephone line for what was to become The Calaveras Telephone Company. As demands for the telephone service increased, the young Mr. Tower found it necessary to establish a central office in the small community of Felix near the town of Copperopolis. Then in 1899, Mr. Tower, now 20 years old, negotiated an agreement with Sunset Telephone Company that would connect his subscribers by telephone with the rest of the world...
