San Andreas, CA...Lily is a sweet little Chihuahua-Corgi mix who is approximately 5 years old and weighs 11 lbs 4 oz. Lily is a bit shy with people at first but soon warms right up to you especially if you rub her ears and scratch around her neck. If you have an empty lap, then Lily would love to take up residence there. Come by the Shelter to meet her and ask about our 55/5 program. She qualifies for that. She would be a great travel companion because of her compact size. Unfortunately, she did test positive for heartworm. So she will need treatment for that and will also need to be spayed before going to her forever home with you. Calaveras Humane Society will treat Lily for heartworm. Lily's intake A036508# Pansy is a lovely, mature little lady looking for a new love interest with a warm lap and big heart. She’s a black tri-colored Chihuahua mix who’s about 5 years old, admits to weighing 14.1 pounds, is Heartworm negative and had shots on arrival at the shelter (but will need a rabies shot). She loves a good, long snuggle with her person and will happily join you for a nap! She qualifies for the 55-5 program. Intake # A036553...

Parent Volunteers Being Honored at Tonight's CUSD Board Meeting |

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras Unified School District will honor their Parent Volunteers at today's meeting. On the agenda it is described as follows: Parent/Volunteer Appreciation Month Celebration Parent and School Volunteers will have an opportunity to meet, share ideas and ask questions with other parent/school groups. The CUSD Board will serve refreshments to honor our parents and volunteers. The Calaveras County Public Health Department will also be present to discuss the healthiness of drinking water and introduce a new alternative beverage. The full agenda is enclosed....

San Andreas, CA...The Mountain-Valley EMS Agency announces its intent to conduct a competitive bid process to award contract(s) for ambulance services in three exclusive operating areas within Calaveras County. When combined, the three EOAs include all incorporated and
unincorporated areas of the County. Proposals will be accepted from Bidder’s for single or multiple zones. The intent of this RFP is to select the winning Bidder or combination of Bidders to provide Ambulance Services within the three EOAs. This solicitation calls for Proposals to provide all ambulance services within the County subject to the performance standards and other specifications herein. The Agreement period will be for five (5) years...

PG&E Nearing Completion of Repairs To Pole After Early Morning Accident |

| Valley Springs, CA....Crews are nearing completion of repairs to a pole that was damaged by an early morning non-injury accident that sheared off a pole on Quail Oaks Road and Butler lane. The truck was holding up what was left of the pole. Sam Berri Towing was recently called back out to the scene to remove the vehicle. Lets be careful out there... |

Valley Springs Nick Kohring Receives Championship Belt and Defends Title Tomorrow |

Valley Springs, CA...Local MMA Fighter and now IFC Champion Nick Kohring received his Championship belt last Saturday night at the Pizza Factory in Valley Springs. The community came together to honor one of their own on his success. He will be wasting no time in defending his new hardware. Tomorrow at the Feather Falls Casino & Lodge he will be battling Christopher Magnani for the main fight of the bout.

Steve Kearney Qualifies For District 5 Supervisors Race |

Rancho Calaveras, CA...Steve Kearney, candidate for Calaveras County Supervisor, District 5, qualified today for the June ballot at the county election office. Kearney worked for Longs Drugs, Inc., for 30 years including 13 at the Valley Springs location. A former Calaveras County Planning Commissioner, Kearney makes his home in Rancho Calaveras and has lived in the county for 20 years.

She was an EMT Instructor and had lived in Valley Springs for 36 years.
