San Andreas, CA...With the recent downpour there has been localized roadway flooding. The Calaveras County Public Works has sand and sandbags available to assist those in need of controlling, diverting or stopping water flow. Sandbags are available at the following locations....

Valley Springs, CA...Sometime on Sunday, 29 year-old Michael Rankin was riding a 2007 Suzuki Motorcycle eastbound on Hogan Dam Road, east of Silver Rapids Road at an unknown rate of speed. For unknown reasons the motorcycle overturned onto it's left side and collided with the asphalt roadway. The rider was ejected and collided with a metal fence post, and came to rest on the grass shoulder south of Hogan Dam Road...

Calaveras, CA...When was the last time you lived (or stayed) in a house with just one bathroom? For us it was around 1999. We were living in what we affectionately called “the cave”, while Bill was building our new house in Arnold. Invariably whenever one of us had to “go”, it was like a cue for nature to call on the other one. Such is the life of living with only one bathroom in the family – even if there are only two of you. When our brand new house was finally done it had a heavenly 3-½ bathrooms for the two of us....
