San Andreas, CA...Mark Twain Medical Center (MTMC) is promoting the importance of early detection of breast cancer, followed by prompt treatment. The entire community was invited to participate in the annual ‘Pink in the Night’ opening ceremony September 26th, in Valley Springs at the Terrace’s (Common Grounds). All those who currently have breast cancer, survivors and support providers were able to light a candle in tribute to those who are currently battling breast cancer, or in remembrance of those that bravely lost their battle. Cal-Waste is supporting the FIGHT against Breast Cancer, and brought one of their trucks lit up in pink lights. Be sure and look for their trucks with pink ribbons around town!

Jackson, CA...The Bret Harte Bullfrogs football team dropped their away conference game against Argonaut 27-13. Sonora Wildcats took a hard fought game against Calaveras 28-14. The Amador Buffaloes football rolled overLinden by a score of 54-7.

No Injuries For Valley Springs Woman In Collision With Power Pole

Valley Springs, CA...A Valley Springs Woman was driving her 2001 Toyota westbound on SR-26 west of Vista Del Lago Drive at 45 miles per hour when she diverted her attention away from the roadway. V-1 traveled onto the shoulder and struck a power pole causing an outage. P-1 suffered no injury but chose to be transported to Mark Twain Hospital via ambulance as a precaution. Alcohol/drugs are not a factor in this collision.

Registration for the ride will be from 9-11am, at El Torero Restaurant located at 2869 W.Highway 12, in Burson Ca. The pack ride will commence immediately following sign ups, touring through Calaveras, Amador and Tuolumne counties. San Andreas, CA...It's that time to renew your membership or become a new member of Friends of the Calaveras Sheriffs Office. FOCSO is dedicated to partnering with the Calaveras County Sheriffs Office by raising funds for programs and equipment not covered, or fully covered, in the county budget. The nonprofit most recently supported projects for equipment/programs for the SO’s Crime Scene Technician, Detective Division, Sheriffs Volunteers, Youth Explorer Program, Patrol Deputies, Correction Officers, Defensive Tactics Training, Canine Program, First Aid essentials and many other projects.
