San Andreas, CA...Help Solve Crime in Your Area! Register Your Video Surveillance Camera with CCSO. The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office (CCSO) is reaching out to residents and businesses with surveillance camera(s) on their property. CCSO would like to continue to build a database to catalog the surveillance cameras in our community. As crimes occur, CCSO can reach out to residents and/or businesses in the area to see if their system has captured this vital information that may help solve the crime.

Calaveras County Public Health Department Issues Heat Advisory to Residents |

San Andreas, CA... Calaveras County Health and Human Services Agency - Public Health Division has issued a heat advisory for the County. We urge the public to act now to prevent heat-related illness. Temperatures of 100 degrees or more are expected over the next several days. Dr. Kelaita, County Health Officer, stated, “Taking action now can prevent the possibility of heat-related illness. Some health conditions such as obesity, fever, dehydration, heart disease, poor circulation, sunburn and drug/alcohol use can make it harder for the body to say cool in hot weather.” During this heat wave, be sure to:

San Andreas, CA...An update regarding negotiations between Calaveras Unified School District and Calaveras Unified Educators Association (CUEA). Posted on the CUSD website at https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8dxpNiYFqDlSDF2VDFfeTBRS2s/view is a copy of the official Fact Finding Report, including the formal dissent issued as part of the official report, that was a result of the formal Fact Finding process that Calaveras Unified School District engaged in with the Calaveras Unified Educators Association (CUEA), as part of the contract negotiation process.

Angels Camp, CA...Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) awarded Career and Technical Training scholarships to a total of six high school students during recent award night events. Four Calaveras High School students, one Bret Harte High student and one student from Mountain Oaks will each receive $1,500.

Calaveras County – The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will perform one-way traffic control on eastbound and westbound State Route 26 from the San Joaquin/Calaveras county line to State Route 12 in the town of Valley Springs for shoulder work. Work will begin Monday, June 12, 2017, through Friday, June 16, 2017, from 5:30 a.m. until 1:30 p.m. Motorists should expect 10-minute delays. Alternate routes should be taken whenever possible.

CAL FIRE Suspends Burn Permits in Tuolumne, Calaveras, Eastern Stanislaus and Eastern San Joaquin Counties |

San Andreas, CA...June 12th, 2017 – After a wet winter, warming temperatures are quickly drying out the abundant annual grass crop. The increasing fire danger posed by the high volume of dead grass and hotter, drier conditions in the region is prompting CAL FIRE to suspend all burn permits for outdoor residential burning within the State Responsibility Area of Tuolumne and Calaveras Counties. This suspension takes effect June 12th, 2017 and bans all residential outdoor burning of landscape debris such as branches and leaves.
