San Andreas, CA...Daisy Mae is a lover from the word go. She's a pretty black and tan Rottweiler mix about 10-12 months old and weighing 51 pounds. Clancy is not only handsome and intelligent, he is full of energy. Clancy is a Rotti cross that is between 1-2 years old and needs lots of training to learn to be a gentleman. Actually he is like a gangly teenager who is not yet totally coordinated. Chili is a young male of mixed breed. His tri-coloring suggests he is a Beagle. But he has features that suggest other breeds too. This makes him a very interesting puppy indeed....

Two New Corrections Officers Sworn In |

San Andreas, CA...On October 8, 2013, Sheriff Gary Kuntz swore in two Corrections Officers and newest members of the Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office. Corrections Officer Justin Teague is originally from Tuolumne and a former air craft mechanic and U.S. Navy veteran who served in Afghanistan and Iraq. Corrections Officer Bret Belshe is originally from Valley Springs and previously worked as a Captain with the Central Calaveras Fire and Rescue Protection District where he served for 5 years...

We welcome your application! The CCOG has a number of transportation planning programs as well as bike and pedestrian programs, all of which are having positive impacts in our community.

San Andreas, CA....Calaveras County Public Health is observing SIDS Awareness Month in October. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is the sudden, unexpected death of a baby younger than one year of age when there is no other reason for the death. SIDS is the leading cause of death among infants between one month and one year of age. “SIDS Awareness Month is a time for Public Health to bring information to families about ways to lessen the risk of SIDS,” stated Dr. Dean Kelaita, Calaveras County Health Officer.... |

Valley Springs., CA...How many Rotarians does it take to install a sign? A lot of them when it requires raising a large sign high into the air. Thanks to the Rotary Club of West Calaveras and President Gary Tofanelli, a new Welcome to Valley Springs sign has been installed along the boundary of The Terrace shopping center. The sign was designed with space available for other organizations to add their logo in the future...

With both Bret Harte and Calaveras Football, Cheer Association, and along with Calaveras Junior Redskins and Angels Camp/Murphys/Arnold Bullfrogs (AMA) to spread the word about Breast Cancer Awareness during the month of October.
