Murphys, CA....The 2008 Ironstone Summer Concert Series season opener is Sheryl Crow and the Los Lonely Boys on Friday June 13th. Doors open at 7pm. Ironstone Amphitheatre at Ironstone Vineyards is located at 1894 Six Mile Road in Murphys. "We are very excited to start our 2008 Season with 9-time Grammy Winner Sheryl Crow and we are particularly pleased that the show includes the return of Los Lonely boys to Ironstone. Calaveras County, CA....The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors declares June Hunger Awareness Month. An overwhelming number of our neighbors struggle to make ends meet and to put food on the table for their families. There is something you can do about it; you can help by assuring that there will be food available at the food bank for people in need. When you support the food bank, you strengthen the community safety net that helps people become healthy and productive members of our communities. Fire Report in for Grass Fire in Burson Yesterday

Burson, CA...CAL Fire is stating a Ford Model 11185 Harvester in motion was the cause of a 5 acre grass fire on May 28th at 3541 Burson Road. Damages are estimated at $1000. No injuries are reported. Fire report enclosed....

Springtime results are in: Calaveras County Water District (CCWD) Ground Water Monitoring Program is in full swing in western Calaveras County. Since 2003, CCWD staff has made the trek to the New Hogan/Camanche/Valley Springs/Wallace/Burson area of the County to conduct semi-annual measuring of static water levels in wells owned by both private homeowners and the CCWD......

It was another of the ongoing Economic Development meetings that have been spearheaded by the Calaveras Chamber of Commerce. FIRE NEWS....Possible Brush Fire Being Reported in the Hwy 12 Burson Road Area (Update) Fire has been contained at approximately 3 acres and aircraft have been released.

CHP is reporting a possible brush fire in the Hwy 12/Burson Road area and has transferred the call to CAL Fire. CAL Fire is getting ready to respond now. Will keep you posted as we know more detailed info....(Update) They have called in a spotter and equipment is arriving on scene now according to Lisa Williams with CAL Fire. So far it is 2-3 acres in size with a slow spread. They are not backing off crews as of yet as it could grow unexpectedly. We will continue to keep you posted if needed....(Update #2)Fire has been contained at 3 acres according to Dennis at CAL Fire. Aircraft has been released. Thank Goodness!
