Angels Camp, CA...A memorial service for Patrick will be held on May 11, 2013 at 4pm in the picnic area behind Jack Knight Hall in Big Trees State Park. Carpooling is highly encouraged, as parking will be limited on a busy Saturday. Parking passes will be handed out at the kiosk....

Valley Springs, Ca... Tragedy struck our small community on Saturday, April 27th, 2013, when Leila Fowler, a beautiful 8-year-old little girl, was killed in her Valley Springs home. As news of this tragedy spread throughout Valley Springs and beyond, friends and family rallied to help her family get through this horrible time. Murphys, CA...There will be a memorial service for Zach Orman on Sunday, May 5 at 2 pm at Big Trees State Park. It will be in the Group Campsite on the North side of Highway 4. Take the second driveway on the left after the main entrance to the park.
Calaveras County Sheriff's Department Update on Leila Fowler Tragedy

Valley Springs, CA...The search for a suspect in this case has continued overnight and through the day today. Overnight Sheriff’s Detectives and members of the California DOJ Bureau of Forensic Services executed a Search Warrant at the home where the homicide occurred. Evidence was collected at the scene including fingerprints and what investigators believe is DNA. At this same time Detectives were conducting follow up interviews with witnesses and family members...
Valley Springs, CA...A candlelight vigil will be held Tuesday, April 30th at 7 p.m. at the Jenny Lind Elementary school (lower field) for Lelia Fowler 8 of Valley Springs. No idea that this wee little one would become such a huge and wondrous personality. During the war in England. John’s father worked at the docks and a bomb hit the side of their house and detonated in the yard. When there was an air raid they would have to hide in an Air Raid Shelter in their yard and wear gas masks...
