Angels Camp, CA...Longtime Calaveras County resident Georgeine Sherrow passed away in Modesto on August 26, 2012 surrounded by her family. Georgeine was born in Modesto, Ca. to George and Eleanor Albert on January 18, 1942 and lived in Angels Camp, Ca. for the last 42 years. She worked for the U.S. Postal Service for 34 years and retired as postmaster in 1987....

San Andreas, CA...In loving memoir of my family, my son-in-law Nathan L. Howard Sr. Born in Portland, OR Oct. 30, 1956 and passed away on April 23, 2010 of lung cancer. He was survived by wife, Erika Howard of San Andreas, CA and 5 children & 7 grandchildren all of Oregon. Then my beloved daughter Erika E. Howard, wife of Nathan. Born in Newport, OR on January 8, 1972 and passed away January 30, 2011 of a broken heart....

Angels Camp, CA... Betty Louise Tarbat, a lifelong resident of Calaveras Co. passed away Aug. 12, 2012. She was born in Altaville, Ca. on Oct. 6, 1925 in the old ranch house, that her parents built, located on French Gulch rd. at Ross Reservoir. Although, she lived through the depression she said she never knew it as a young child because her family was sustained by a working ranch. Betty was the youngest of 11 children. She attended school at the old Altaville Grammer School. She also attended and graduated from Bret Harte High School and later married her high school sweetheart James E. Tarbat, after his return from the service. She worked at Bank of America for a few years before starting her family. |

Mountain Ranch, CA...A native of Oakland, CA. Clyde grew up in Fremont, CA He served in the US Army during WWII and had worked for Westinghouse in Sunnyvale for 30 yrs. He moved with his Family to Mountain Ranch in 1981 and has lived there sine then. He was a Founding member of the Kennel Club of the Sierra and Free and Accepted Mason of the Masonic Lodge in Sunnyvale. Clyde was a life member of the Mfg Engineers Union. He had raised and showed Bull Dogs for many years.... |

Valley Springs Man Sadly Loses Life in Motorcycle Accident |

Valley Springs, CA....Yesterday afternoon just after 5pm 36 year old Adam Charles Hosford had a tragic accident on his 1983 Honda. It was the last ride he would take. From the CHP report..He was traveling on the Honda westbound on Bane Drive, just east of Cox Drive at a speed greater than 45 mph. For unknown reasons Hosford made an unsafe turning movement to the right which caused him to leave the roadway and enter the westbound shoulder. When the Honda left the roadway it appears he lost control of the vehicle. The Honda and rider continued towards the intersection of Bane Drive and Cox Drive. Consequently, the Honda collided with a dirt embankment on the westbound shoulder and he was ejected... |

Arnold, CA...Mark Cameron Johnson of Arnold passed away peacefully at home on August 8, 2012, due to complications of cancer. He was 66. Mark was formally diagnosed with cancer in 2008 and fought a courageous battle for the last four years. Mark was born in Phoenix, AZ, and grew up in Coronado, CA. After graduation from high school, Mark joined the USAF, where he served for 20 years before retiring to a life in Defense Contracting, mostly with TRW, Sunnyvale, CA. During this time he attended Saint Mary’s College of Moraga, CA, earning his degree in Business Management....
