Sandra Jane Dragomanovich 1938 - 2014

Sandra Jane Dragomanovich died Thursday, December 25, 2O14 in her home with her family by her side. She was 76. Sandy was born April 17, 1938 in San Diego, CA. She loved to cross country ski, hike in the summer with her group of close friends and enjoyed working in her yard. She was on the cemetery board as well as the Planning Commission and rnany other organizations. Sandy also worked and then became owner of Calaveras Casuals for about 30 years until she closed the store...

Frog Jump Loses Legend!

Angels Camp, CA...The Calaveras County Fair and Jumping Frog Jubilee would like to honor the memory of Warren "Buck" King who passed away yesterday. Buck was involved in many aspects of the Fair, including serving as the the Fair Manager from 1997 to 2003. King was also on the Board of directors. A post from which he resigned to become the Fair Manager. However his area of expertise was the Frog Jump. He officiated the Frog Jump for more than 50 years. First as a member of the Angels Boosters Club and then as a founding member of the Frog Jump Committee. "I learned everything I know about frogs from Buck, how to tell the male from the female, how to care for them and how to respect them", says Laurie Giannini, CEO/Fair manger. Arnold, CA...Richard “Wayne” Dougherty born 9/21/66 in San Leandro CA. He passed away 11/25/14 early in the morning suddenly. When he was 6 he and his family moved to Washington State to a little town name Snohomish where he graduated from Snohomish High School. When he was 26 he met his love of his life and married her August 27, 1994 in Snohomish Washington. They had their son Joe in 1996 and then their daughter in 1999. They lived in Washington until 2002 when they moved to Arnold, Ca. Wayne had many friends and continued to help when the need arose. He was a loving Husband, Father and Son. Wayne loved Sports of any kind, playing games with his family and friends. He touched many peoples hearts with his love and giving. Wayne was very proud of his son. Wayne loved his family unconditionally....

Murphys, CA...Everett Wayne ( Stick ) Morgan , age 82 of Murphys California died in Calaveras County on December 2, 2014. Private internment services were held at Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys on December 13,2014. A Celebration of life Ceremony will be held on January 3, 2015,1:00 p.m. at the Native Sons Hall located in Murphys California. Mr. Morgan was born in French Camp California November 29, 1932. He Attended grade school in San Jose Ca. Graduated from Orland High School in 1951 and then attended Chico State College in Chico California after being discharged from the Navy. He was employed with the Oakland Fire Department for 26 years. Following retirement he moved to Douglas Flat in Calaveras County. He was employed as a Transportation Officer in the Mental Health Department for 14 years with Calaveras County. He joined the US Navy as a Naval Construction Engineer with the Seabee’s who live by the motto, “We Build, We Fight, Can Do”. While in the Navy Seabees, Everett was stationed at Subic Bay, in the Philippines. Stick, as he was best known, was an active member of the Murphys/ Angels Camp Lions Club for 22 years where he focused on fund raising projects. He was a long-time resident of Calaveras County where he resided in Douglas Flat for 22 years spending the last 8 years in the Murphys Diggins...

Angels Camp, CA...James Edward Kane passed away at Sonora Avalon Care Center December 3, 2014 at the age of 87. He was born June 29, 1927 in Hughson California to Albert and Myrtle Kane. After graduating from high school in 1945, he joined the Merchant Marines for a two year stint. Shortly after going to work for PG&E, he was drafted into the Army and sent to Germany as part of the occupational forces for two years. After his military service, he went back to work for PG&E building sub stations and married the love of his life, Betty Conyers to whom he was married 61 years. He ultimately retired from PG&E as a hydro generation maintenance electrician after 40 years. ....
