San Andreas, CA...Nathan (Nate) Sandor Huston, of San Andreas California, Passed away on Sept 12, 2020 in San Andreas, California. Nate was born April 29, 1927 in Los Angeles California, to John and Jennie Huston of Burson, California. He graduated from Calaveras High School in the Class of 1945, and immediately joined the Navy with his twin brother, John. Nate went on to serve two years in the Philippines as a Naval Amphibious Landing Craft operator. After his tour of duty, Nate returned to Burson for a short time, and took a job working on construction of the Alaska Oil Pipeline for 6 months. Having decided that pipeline work was not for him, he returned once again to Calaveras County and took a job at the Bendix American Forest Products mill in Martell, California where he worked for 32 years, and retired as a superintendent in 1978. While at American Forest Products, he married Aileen Chadwell Huston (now deceased) of Melones, California, in 1966.

Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg served more than 27 years as an Associate Justice of the Supreme Court of the United States—notably just the second woman to be appointed to the Court. She was a loving wife to her late husband, Martin, and a dedicated mother to her two children.
Forest Service Officials Confirm Firefighter Fatality on El Dorado Fire

San Bernardino, CA...USDA Forest Service officials on the San Bernardino National Forest have confirmed the death of a firefighter on the El Dorado Fire. The incident took place on Thursday, September 17, 2020. The name is being withheld pending notification of next of kin. Our deepest sympathies are with the family, friends and fellow firefighters during this time.
Washington, DC...Associate Justice Ruth Bader Ginsburg died this evening surrounded by her family at her home in Washington, D.C., due to complications of metastatic pancreas cancer. She was 87 years old. Justice Ginsburg was appointed to the Supreme Court by President Clinton in 1993. She was the second woman appointed to the Court and served more than 27 years. She is survived by her two children: Jane Carol Ginsburg (George Spera) and James Steven Ginsburg (Patrice Michaels), four grandchildren: Paul Spera (Francesca Toich), Clara Spera (Rory Boyd), Miranda Ginsburg, Abigail Ginsburg, two step-grandchildren: Harjinder Bedi, Satinder Bedi, and one great-grandchild: Lucrezia Spera. Her husband, Martin David Ginsburg, died in 2010.

Thank you Lord for blessing us with George Henry Middleton (Curley) born September 22, 1940. He was a loved Husband, Dad, brother, Uncle, Poppa, Great Poppa and Friend. Curley was born in Mecca CA, raised in Indio CA on the Gibbs family farm until 13 when he moved to Winchester CA and attended Leuzinger High School for his freshmen & sophomore years where he lettered in Varsity football at nose guard / middle linebacker.
Murphys, CA...Lori Duse Weathers, age 55, passed away peacefully with family at her side on Sunday, September 6, 2020 at her family’s home in Salt Lake City, UT. Lori was born September 9, 1964 in Castro Valley, CA to Lawrence and Vivian (Tanghe) Byrnes. A 1982 graduate of Bret Harte HS, she began work with AAA while attending Columbia JC. She soon married on September 24, 1983 in Columbia, CA and began life’s most important job, raising her family in Arnold, CA. As part of a tight knit extended family, Lori’s pride and joy became her own family, where motherhood proved to be her life’s passion. Along with her two sons Andrew and Tucker, her grandson Teddy and soon-to-be first granddaughter Nora (expecting late September, 2020) were Lori’s first love.
68 Year Old Modesto Man Perished in Motorcycle vs Big Rig Collision on Hwy 120

Jamestown, CA...On September 5, 2020, at approximately 11:50AM a 68-year-old male from Modesto, CA stopped his 1999 Harley Davidson Motorcycle on the north shoulder of eastbound State Route 120, west of Green Springs Road to assist a disabled motorcycle. After assisting the disabled motorcycle, the rider started his motorcycle and entered the eastbound lanes of State Route 120. At that same time, 63-year-old Erik Roen of Knights Ferry, CA was driving his 2012 Kenworth Big Rig, while pulling a flatbed trailer carrying a bulldozer, eastbound on State Route 120, west of Green Springs Road in the #2 lane. The motorcycle rider traveled into the #2 lane directly in front of the Big Rig. As a result, the front of the Big Rig crashed into the motorcycle.
Forest Service Officials Confirm One Fatality, One Injury on August Complex August Complex Wildfire

Willows, CA...USDA Forest Service officials on the Mendocino National Forest are deeply saddened to confirm the death of a firefighter on the August Complex. Two additional firefighters were involved in the accident. The firefighters were working on the Tatham Fire within the August Complex on Monday, Aug. 31, 2020 when the vehicle accident occurred. A second injured firefighter is receiving medical attention for burns to their hand and arm, while the third firefighter involved received no injuries.

Mokelumne Hill, CA...On August 29, 2020, at approximately 1138 hours, the Stockton Communications Center received a call of a traffic collision involving a solo motorcycle on State Route 26, near Sport Hill Road in the Mokelumne Hill area. Officers from the California Highway Patrol (CHP) San Andreas Area Office responded to the scene and discovered a deceased male motorcycle rider.
