Fatal Motorcycle Crash Took The Life of 40 Year Old Martin Flores |

Sonora, CA...The sad family notifications have been made and the Sonora CHP Office has released the name of the deceased in the fatal motorcycle crash on Saturday. On March 13, 2021 at approximately 5:00pm, a 40-year-old Martin Flores from Modesto was riding his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Bonds Flat Road, east of Blue Oaks Road at an unknown rate of speed. As the rider negotiated a left curve in the roadway, he allowed his motorcycle to travel onto the south shoulder where both the rider and the motorcycle stuck a guardrail.

Fatal Motorcycle Crash Takes Life of Modesto Man on Bonds Flat Road |

Sonora, CA...On March 13, 2021 at approximately 5:00pm, a 40-year-old man from Modesto was riding his 2006 Suzuki motorcycle eastbound on Bonds Flat Road, east of Blue Oaks Road at an unknown rate of speed. As the rider negotiated a left curve in the roadway, he allowed his motorcycle to travel onto the south shoulder where both the rider and the motorcycle stuck a guardrail. After the impact, the motorcycle landed within the eastbound lane of Bonds Flat Road and the rider came to rest on a private roadway just south of Bonds Flat Road. A Fish and Wildlife Warden was traveling through the area of the crash and began to provide medical aid to the rider.

Angels Camp, CA...Nicholas E. Smith, of Angels Camp, CA, passed away on Thursday, February 25, 2021 at his home. He was born in La Brea, CA on March 6, 1945 and grew up in the San Fernando Valley. Nick attended Taft High School before earning his Bachelor’s degree from San Fernando Valley college. He was an avid tennis player and met his wife, Susan (Gangwer) Smith, at the former Gold Hunter Tennis and Swim Club in San Andreas, CA, and on February 16, 1979 the couple were married in Carson City, NV.

CHP Seeking Public's Help in Fatal Hit & Run That Took Life of Sonora Teen |

Sonora, CA...On February 28, 2021 at approximately 5:32pm, CHP Officer’s received a call that a 17-year-old female from Sonora was located in a ditch on State Route 49 near O’Hara Drive with what appeared to be major injuries. Upon the officer’s arrival at the scene, they located the injured female and suspected she was stuck by a vehicle that fled the scene. Unfortunately, as the female was being treated by medical personnel, she succumbed to her injuries. The identity of the female is not being released at this time.
