My family and I watched in absolute horror as the now infamous and horrifying video began to spread quickly throughout social media. What we saw on that tape left us shell shocked; a white Minneapolis police officer kneeling directly on my brother's neck, obstructing his ability to breathe. As some officers knelt on his neck, other officers participated and watched; no one took any action to save my brother's life.

Santa Cruz Sergeant Damon Gutzwiller's Life Was Taken in Ambush Saturday Afternoon

Santa Cruz, CA...From the Santa Cruz Sheriff's Office..."On Saturday June 6th at around 1:30 p.m., we received a call about a suspicious van parked off the road near Jamison Creek, Boulder Creek. The caller saw guns and bomb making materials inside the van. When deputies arrived, the van was seen leaving the area and tried to follow it, finally finding it at a home on Waldeberg, Ben Lomond. As deputies began investigating, they were ambushed with gunfire and multiple improvised explosive devices. Sergeant Damon Gutzwiller was shot and taken to the hospital where he was pronounced dead. Another deputy was either shot or struck by shrapnel and struck by a car as the suspect fled the property. We are hopeful the deputy will recover.

He departed this life Sunday, May 3, 2020 at Bryan West in Lincoln, NE at the age of 42 years. Nathan grew up many different places because his dad was in the military. He graduated from high school in California.

Charles Brechtel, 62 Passed Away in Motorcycle Collision on O'Byrnes Ferry Road

Copperopolis, CA...On April 25, 2020, at approximately 1752 hours, Brechtel was riding his Harley Davidson northbound on O'Byrnes Ferry Road south of Duchess Drive. Mason was driving her Chevrolet southbound on O'Byrnes Ferry Road south of Duchess Drive. Brechtel allowed his motorcycle to cross the double yellow lines into the southbound lane, and he collided into the left front corner of the Chevrolet. He was ejected from his motorcycle, and was pronounced deceased on scene.

Christopher Brabbin, 27 from West Point Lost His Life in Winton Road Collision

West Point, CA...Christopher Brabbin, was traveling eastbound on Winton Road, east of Lily Gap Road. As his vehicle was negotiating a slight left hand curve in the roadway for eastbound traffic, he allowed his Nissan Maxima to travel off of the roadway, on to the south shoulder of Winton Road. He then lost control of the Vehicle, and the right rear end of the Vehicle collided with a tree. The vehicle continued in an easterly direction, on the south shoulder of Winton Road. The front end of the Nissan then collided with a dirt embankment, and began to roll over onto its left side. As the vehicle was rolling over, Christopher was ejected from his vehicle. Unfortunately, he succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Pioneer, CA...Bruce Paul Botz, 89, Pioneer, California, passed away Monday, April 13, 2020, at his home. Bruce was born on March 17, 1931 in Berlin, Wisconsin to the late Arthur Louis and Esther Amanda (Englert) Botz, Sr. He was preceded in death by his previous wife, Barbara Diane (Scovil-McDonald) Thompson and brothers, Arthur Louis Botz, Jr., Richard John Botz and Robert Owen Botz.

Denair Man Lost His Life in Hwy 4 Collision Near Pool Station (Updated)

Angels Camp, CCA...Timothy White, 62 from Denair, CA was traveling eastbound on State Route 4 at Pool Station Road. As Mr. White approached a curve in the roadway, he abruptly applied his brakes. The rear wheel of the motorcycle locked up and slid out from under him. The motorcycle fell onto its right side and Mr. White was ejected from the motorcycle. The motorcycle and Mr. White slid off the south side of the roadway where they both came to rest. Unfortunately, Mr. White succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene.

Murphys, CA...William Robert Cheney, age 85, of Murphys, CA passed away peacefully on March 29, 2020, surrounded by family. William “Bill” leaves his loving wife of 66 years, Marilyn (Thomas) Cheney, his son Dennis Cheney (wife Sharon) and daughter Pam Cheney Bowman (husband Pat). Bill was a loving and devoted Grampy to Cassie Miller (Theron), Mark Franz (Taryn), Alyssa Turner (Forrest), Robert Peterson (Brooke) and Karlee Short (Caleb), and 12 great-grandchildren who he adored.

Mountain Ranch, CA...LeRoy “Ted” Dodge, 2/26/1927—3/30/2020 WW2 Vet. Long time Mountain Ranch Resident, LeRoy Dodge passed away peacefully at home on March 30th. He was 93. LeRoy is survived by his wife, Peggy, four sons, eleven grandchildren, 28 great grandchildren and 2 great, great grandchildren. He purchased the Mountain Ranch property on the corner of Michel and Cave City Roads in 1978 and moved into the house he built on the property in 1980.
