Rail Road Flat, CA...Michael Jack Spadoni, of Rail Road Flat, CA died on January 12, 2017 at Avalon Health Care in San Andreas, due to complications from Alzheimer’s Disease. Mike was born on January 14, 1942 to Eva Jensen Spadoni and Gene Spadoni in San Francisco, CA. Mike graduated from Burlingame High School in 1959 and later served in the California State Army National Guard. He graduated with a B.S. in Business Administration from California State University East Bay. He married Virginia Boyle and had two daughters, Theresa and Lisa.

San Andreas, CA...Joel Harold Springer III, born December 11, 1948 in San Francisco, CA, age 68, residing at 4656 High Country Road, PO Box 1506, San Andreas, CA, died January 1, 2017, at home in San Andreas, of natural causes. Joel had a master’s degree from San Francisco State University.

Joel was a teacher, having taught at George Washington High School in San Francisco, and at Calaveras High School in San Andreas, and was currently substituting at several of the schools in Calaveras and Amador Counties. He also was a paralegal and a notary and had worked as assistant grand secretary at the Masonic Grand Lodge of California.

Murphys, CA...Jeanne Jasper passed away peacefully at her home in San Andreas, Monday January 2nd, 2017. She was 93. Eugenia Mary Reed was born in Castella, California on December 20,1923.

Florene Richards Anderson 1924-2016

Dorrington, CA... Florene Anderson was born 6 Oct 1924 to Floyd and Irene Richards in Manteca, California. Her parents combined their names Floyd and Irene to get her name, Florene. She graduated from Manteca High School, remaining a longtime member of the Manteca Historical Society. Florene attended the College of the Pacific in Stockton and the University of Nevada in Reno where she studied geology and was a member of the Pi Beta Phi Sorority. A Calaveras County resident over 65 years she and her husband, Leonard Anderson, owned and operated the Dorrington Hotel, The Pine Gables Motel and KLM Builders before retiring to her parent’s apple ranch in Hathaway Pines. Florene went to be with the Lord on 10 Dec 2016. She was laid to rest at Buena Vista Cemetery in Murphys.

Valley Springs, CA...Archie "Sparky" Sparkman was born on June 25th, 1927 and passed away on December 27th 2016. Archie was 89 years old and from Valley Springs, CA. The Memorial Service is Wednesday January 4, 2016 11:00 A.M. at Clements Community Church located at 18544 E. Walnut St. in Clements, CA. A luncheon will be following at the church. Private Interment.

Los Angeles, CA...Carrie Frances Fisher (October 21, 1956 – December 27, 2016) was an American actress, screenwriter, author, producer, and speaker. She was known for playing Princess Leia in the Star Wars films. Fisher was also known for her semi-autobiographical novels, including Postcards from the Edge, and the screenplay for the film of the same name, as well as her autobiographical one-woman play, and its nonfiction book, Wishful Drinking, based on the show. Her other film roles included Shampoo (1975), The Blues Brothers (1980), Hannah and Her Sisters (1986), The 'Burbs (1989), and When Harry Met Sally... (1989) below for her full bio from Wikipedia


Constance Vivienne Giannini 1921-2016

Mountain Ranch, CA...Constance Giannini went home to be with her Lord on December 15, 2016. She was 95 years old. She was born Constance Johns on February 4, 1921 in San Francisco, California. She was one of four daughters born to Watson and Vivienne Johns. She graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Oregon and received her teaching credential from University of the Pacific. She taught in Ceres, Modesto, Farifield and at the school house in Mountain Ranch. She married Natale Giannini in 1957. She made her home on the family ranch in San Andreas. She was a member of the Calaveras County Farm Women and attended San Andreas Community Covenant Church for 60 years. She entered the Calaveras County Fair annually and excelled in baking and canning.
