Dorrington, CA....Another great local business story that has been percolating for a few months is that The Lube Room will be reopening hopefully by Memorial Weekend. Great news for the summer and more to follow....

Arnold, CA...We have housed a stray dog overnight and maybe owner and claim her. Border collie mix. 40 lbs. old. 3 tumors. cataract left eye. Friendly, sassy and good with other animals. Red collar, no tags. Found at corner of Pine drive and Hwy 4 on 4/21/15 around 11am. Call 209 795-1795 (Vivien or Fred) at 1323 Pine Drive Arnold. ftreece@sbcglobal.net. We are dropping her off at the animal shelter in San Andreas later today, after checking in with Arnold Pet Clinic & Murphys Vet. (Great News...Owner & Pet Reunited)

Bret Harte High School Cybullfrogs Club Receives Grant from Calaveras Community Foundation |

Angels Camp, CA...Cybullfrogs, a Bret Harte High School LegoRobotics club has received a $9993.00 grant from the Calaveras Community. The money will be used to buy hardware and software to allow more students to participate in the hands-on building of programmable robots. In March, 2014, a small group of Bret Harte students approached Timothy Randall, Math teacher, and Ken Baldwin, Drafting and Digital Photography teacher, with a desire to start a robotics club. The teachers volunteered as mentors and organizers and with the help of a grant from the Tyler Orsow Foundation and seed money from Bret Harte, the club was able to purchase four Lego Mindstorms kits....

Humane Society Arnold & Angels Camp Nail Clinics A HUGE Success! |

Arnold & Angels Camp, CA...Local professional dog groomers donated their time and expertise to help local dogs get their Spring pedicures. During the two days almost 50 dogs came in to visit ! All proceeds from the two clinics went to the Calaveras Humane Society. Pictured below at the Humane Society Angels Thrift Store are Roberta Steely of The Groom Shop in Angels Camp, Carie Stroble, Angel Paws Mobile Pet Spa in Arnold and Patty Johnston of Swingstar Collies in Murphys. Also participating were Laura Dickey of Snip-N-Clip Doggie Salon in Douglas Flat and Karen Kaua of Aloha Boarding and Training in Murphys. A HUGE THANK YOU to all from the Calaveras Humane Society...
