Bear Valley, CA...January 12, 2018 – Bear Valley has an exciting schedule of events this weekend to celebrates its annual Winter Explosion. The lineup includes a full day of family fun planned at the mountain and in Bear Valley Village with activities including tubing during the day followed by a special dinner, movie, torchlight parade, fireworks show, and kids activities. There will also be live music on Sunday. The schedule is as follows (Times are approximate. Times and activities are subject to change):

$5,000 Reward Offered for Arrest & Conviction of Wanted Subject Jimmy Blake Terry

San Andreas, CA...The Calaveras County Sheriff’s Office is facilitating the offer of a $5,000 reward for the arrest and conviction of wanted subject, Jimmy Blake Terry. Earlier this week the Sheriff’s Office announced that Jimmy Blake Terry is currently listed as Calaveras County Most Wanted in connection to a recent burglary and vehicle pursuit in the Arnold area. Terry also has several outstanding warrants for his arrest from both Calaveras and Tuolumne Counties. A private anonymous party has donated the $5,000 reward to the Friends of the Calaveras Sheriff’s Office, which is a nonprofit group that supports the Sheriff’s Office programs, projects and equipment.

Arnold, CA...The Sheriff's Office has identified Jimmy Blake Terry as the suspect wanted for burglary and evading peace officers in a lengthy pursuit around the Arnold area on 1-7-18. The stolen truck Terry was driving during the pursuit was found abandoned and was recovered shortly after the pursuit ended.

Columbia, CA...Columbia College has named 182 students to the fall 2017 semester President’s List. We are pleased to officially recognize their exceptional scholastic achievement. This acknowledgment is reserved for students completing twelve or more units of semester coursework at Columbia College and earning a cumulative grade point average between 3.5 and 4.0, with no grade lower than “C.” Columbia College fall 2017 President’s List students are listed below by city.
White Pines, CA...Fae Janet Gibson 1937-2017. “When people die, they cannot be replaced. They leave holes that cannot be filled, for it is the fate — the genetic and neural fate — of every human being to be a unique individual, to find his own path, to live his own life, to die his own death.”-Oliver Sacks. Our beloved mother, Fae Janet (Grove Dutton Frenette) Gibson, passed away at her home in Hayward, California, on January 21st 2017. She was 79. She was surrounded by her loving children and their spouses, as well as hospice volunteers and dedicated caregivers.
