Arnold, CA...The 8th Annual Arnold Custom Car & Motorcycle Show was a another great event in Arnold. GABA organized and pushed the event this year and well over 90 vehicles were entered. We would like to thank Tim Sullivan for the great photos!!! Enjoy!!

More Progress Made on Arnold Rim Trail...ARTA Says Thank You!! |

Arnold, CA...Thanks to the wonderful volunteers Javier, Jeffery, Scott and his son, Jane, Rob, Tim, Judy, Steve, and Tony for opening a quarter of mile of trail on July 14, 2012. P13 is long established Forest Service trail near Avery Sheep Ranch road that is overgrown with brush. Over the next year, Forest Service and the Arnold Rim Trail Association (ARTA) volunteers working with the help of CCC and the Calaveras County inmates will re-establish this beautiful three mile trail....

Arnold, CA..On Friday, June 29th, Ophir Bear Mt, Lodge #33 of Free and Accepted Masons, presented Deborah Jean Gallo with the 2012 “Teacher of Distinction Award.” Ms. Gallo, a third grade teacher at Hazel Fisher School was recommended for this award by Noah Shartle. Noah is the 2012 Recipient of the George M. Truemper Scholarship. He will attend Princeton University in the fall.....

Arnold, CA...Stop by the Calaveras Humane Society's Thrift Store Adoption Center in Arnold, located in Meadowmont Center next to Big Trees Market (Phone 209-795-GIVE). We'll be open THURS. - SAT., 10-5. We will have approximately 10 Cats & Kittens available to meet you. Our 2 featured cats this week are on special for a low two-for-one donation. So much love for so very little! We are also currently having a 'Summer Of Love' Special, in which the adoption donation for Adults & Junior Kittens over 4 months of age is $35, and all Kittens up to 4 months old are $50. We hope that you will join us in this "Summer Of Love."...

Arnold, CA...The fishing on the highway 4 corridor has been excellent. The campgrounds at Lake Alpine, Big Meadow, Sourgrass, Union Res, Spicer Res. and Mosquito Lakes are now open. You must obtain a fire permit for your campsite if you are not using an improved campsite. Make sure you purchase your license before heading up here as we are the only store to sell licenses from Arnold up as we do experience problems with our machine occasionally.....
