Arnold, CA... The Ebbetts Pass Scenic Byway Association is hosting two public review meetings focused on planning for the future of this nationally-designated corridor. The meetings will be held on June 18th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Arnold Firehouse, 1037 Blagen Road, Arnold, CA; and on June 19th from 6:00 – 7:30 p.m. at the Alpine County Administrative Office Building, Board Chambers, 99 Water Street, Markleeville, CA.... |

Fishing Report - Highway 4 Corridor |

Arnold, CA... Fishing on the Highway 4 corridor has been excellent with all of the recent trout plants. Trout plants for this week are White Pines Lake, Angels Creek, Beaver Creek, The North Fork of the Stanislaus, and Lake Alpine.
White Pines Lake: White Pines Lake located near Arnold has been excellent and is due to be planted this upcoming week. Bait casters should try using Berkley Gulp Eggs, Garlic Power Eggs, Garlic Power Bait, Power Bait, Salmon Peach Power Bait, Grape Nymph Power Bait, Berkley Mice Tails, Berkley Gulp Worms, salmon eggs, and Nightcrawlers with a sliding sinker rig or with a cast-a-bubble rig with 30"-36" leader. Lure casters should try Kastmasters, Panther Martin spinners, Rooster Tails, Mepps, Blue Fox spinners, Berkley Splinter Spoons, and Thomas Bouyants. Fly fishermen should try woolly buggers, sparrow nymphs, adams, female adams, humpy's, blue wing olive, pale morning dun, caddis flies, ants, and bead head nymphs.... |

San Andreas, CA...The agenda for today's board meeting is enclosed and following is the notice that the budget meeting for the the 2013/2014 budget are upon us. COUNTY OF CALAVERAS FY 2013/14 RECOMMENDED BUDGET HEARINGS, TENTATIVE SCHEDULE: NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Calaveras County Board of Supervisors will hold Recommended Budget Hearings commencing on June 11, 2013 through June 14, 2013, or until completion. Tuesday, June 11, 2013 – (following regular Board meeting, if time permits) Board Chambers, 891 Mountain Ranch Road, San Andreas, CA 95249 Items not heard on Tuesday, June 11th, will be continued as follows, until completed: Wednesday through Friday beginning at 9:00 AM. June 12, 13 & 14, 2013 as necessary. CalWorks Sequoia Room, 509 E. St. Charles Street San Andreas, CA 95249. These hearings are open to any member of the general public wishing to be heard regarding any item of the budget or for the inclusion of additional items. Avery Graduates the Class of 2013 |

Avery, CA....The Avery Middle School 8th Grade class graduated on Thursday night in very nice ceremony with a beautiful forest vista in the background. There were great speeches and walks down memory lane. Another class is leaving the last vestages of childhood behind and moving squarley into young adulthood as they move on to Bret Harte High School or other options for their next phase in their path. We have over 90 photos and full video of the ceremony for you. Images of the program are at the end of the photo album. Congratulations to the Avery Class of 2013!!!

Arnold, CA...This is an invitation to property owners along Highway 4 to join the community in sprucing up the appearance of our town. Will you make sure that your property is looking well-cared for, too? On Saturday June 8, volunteers from both GABA and the Arnold Angels women’s group will be working their way up both sides of Highway 4, cutting weeds, trimming shrubs and hauling away the debris. This will same many property owners some time and money...
