Arnold, CA....Thousands lined the parade route on the busiest weekend in Calaveras County's mountain town. America's Independence, Small Town Values and Patriotism were front and center in today's parade. Updated...Below are over 200 Photos taken at the start of the parade route and we still have more to add that were taken at a different spot along Hwy 4. The Parade Video has been added as well..(Update The Sierra Nevada Logging Museum took top honors)

Arnold, CA.... Fishing on the Highway 4 corridor has been excellent due to all of the recent trout plants. There will be kids fishing derby at Lake Alpine this upcoming Friday. Trout plants this week include White Pines Lake, Angels Creek, The North Fork of the Stanislaus, and Beaver Creek. Lake Alpine has been planted this past week. Please be careful with your fires as we are in the midst of our FIRE season. Please obtain a fire permit before camping. You can contact our CDF at 209-795-1381 for up to date information regarding camping and fire safety....

Arnold, CA...Cedar Center in Arnold will be filled with beautiful rolling works of art. Each year this event keeps building and building. So stop by during the day for the cars and stay for the music with The Tour Guides playing on the stage as the show winds down. Angels Camp, CA...Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) presented Career and Technical Training scholarships to eight high school students from both Bret Harte and Calaveras High Schools at recent award ceremonies. Each recipient will receive $1200...

The DFG had planted fish for the week prior to the 4th of July, and the fishing couldn't;t be better.. Please be careful with your fires as we are in the midst of our FIRE season. Arnold Rim Trail Association staffs the Ebbetts Pass Death Ride aid station this past weekend, July 13th

Hermit Valley, CA...Nineteen intrepid volunteers, many who are Arnold Rim Trail Association steering committee members, docents and ART trail users, staffed the Ebbetts Pass aid station for the Death Ride this weekend. Approximately 2,000 riders came through our station, many of them twice, and we worked like crazy... and loved every minute of it. A huge thanks again to Dave Edney who served as "Captain Dave", expertly directing the entire team.

ANGELS CAMP, CA (July 16, 2013)—The Calaveras Visitors Bureau has won “Best Visitor Experience” at the California State Fair for its interactive county booth that promotes area tourism. This special honor was awarded this past Friday along with the county’s fifth consecutive Gold Award for its annual exhibit....
