Stolen Property Arrest in Arnold |

Arnold, CA...On Monday 10-7-13 at about 0050 hours, the California Highway Patrol released a Be-On-The-Lookout broadcast for a blue Chevy blazer stolen from Black Oak Court in Arnold. On this same date at about 0250 hours, suspicious activity was reported to the Sheriff’s Office around a room at a motel on Highway 4 in Arnold. One of the vehicle’s described as associated with this call matched that of the stolen vehicle, but they left prior to deputies’ arrival...

Pacific Gas and Electric Company Donates To Calaveras Community Foundation |

Angels Camp, CA...Pacific Gas & Electric Company (PG&E) recently presented Calaveras Community Foundation (CCF) with a generous $5000 donation to benefit The Career and Technical Training (C&TT) Scholarship Fund. The Career and Technical Training Scholarship Fund, founded in 2010, helps to support alternative forms of higher education, including two-year junior college and trade school certificates. In a September 1st article from Parade magazine, it was stated that the vast manufacturing assembly operations of the past have given way to high-tech, precision manufacturing where sophisticated components like aircraft parts, medical devices and lab testing equipment are the rule not the exception. The challenge in America is to produce more workers who have these skills...

Our goal is to educate through the use of culinary terms and techniques and also inspire, through the use of the freshest seasonal ingredients, all who watch to make their own meals to enjoy at home. Derby, KS... Ellen Buchholtz (Williams) (Formerly of Arnold & Salinas, California), passed away October 3, 2013. Ellen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt to her family & friends. Ellen was born in Huntsville, Arkansas in 1942, and was preceded in death by her father Williams P. Williams, mother Linnie May Williams, husband Bobby Buchholtz, brother Gerald Lynn Williams, and Angel her Malamute. She is survived by her devoted daughter Julie Brown & son-in-law Christopher Brown, grand-daughter Rachel Smith, grandson Thomas Clifton, great-grand daughter Audrey Smith, brother & sister-in-law Glendon & Joyce Williams, brother & sister-in-law George & Joanne Williams, brother & sister-in-law Gary & Michelle Williams, sister-in-law Darrell Jean Williams, son Richard, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Ellen worked as a Florist in Salinas & Arnold, California in the 1980 & 90's. She was a true artist at heart. Ellen enjoyed painting, creating unique art pieces, and spent the last 20 years of her life designing almost 100 quilts for family, friends and colleagues...

Annual Convention, where we were again awarded the Legion Lodge Award, Signifying Best in the Area!! We renovated our lodge to give more room for our Pool Player’s and greater seating capacity for our members in the “Social Quarters”.
