Murphys, CA...In Addition the the great shots Hanna Heath took of Little League Opening Day, we also stopped by the venues and took a bit of video as the season gets underway. The Ebbetts Pass Little League kicked off their season at Feeney Park in Murphys on Saturday morning. The place was buzzing with activity as the kids started swinging. It also seemed a bit like a neighborhood block party as all the familiar faces are back together for another season...

Avery, CA....There will be an Arnold Rim Trail Community Meeting on Tuesday April 22, 2008 6-8pm, Avery Middle School Library, Avery, CA. Interested community members are invited to attend the first in a series of meetings designed to inform and gather input on the Arnold Rim Trail, a volunteer and agency collaboration project to enhance non-motorized recreational and educational opportunities for Arnold and adjacent towns and communities....

Please Reach Out to Help The McCullough Family...A Fundraiser is Also Set for June 8th |

Arnold, CA...Matthew McCullough, an 11 year old boy who resides in Arnold and attends Avery Middle School, found out he had a brain tumor on February 28th, 2008. He was then taken to Stanford Medical Center for surgery and now his treatments. They removed the Tumor, but on Thursday March 6th, the family found out the Tumor was Cancer. The name of his Tumor is Medulloblastoma and it is malignant. He now needs to have Radiation and Chemotherapy. Matt started his six weeks of Radiation treatments on March 26th and then will have Chemotherapy, for about ten months afterwards. He hopes to feel better at the end of the treatments.....

There will be a Public Hearing on Unmet Transit needs in the county; There will be a Minute Order authorizing and supporting the letter to CCWD; There will also be a discussion of the Mid Year Expenditure Report. Fall Registration is here! It’s time to register for the 2008 fall soccer season. They will have teams for boys and girls ages 4 through 15. The Ebbetts Pass Youth Soccer League is a volunteer organization established to provide an opportunity to participate in organized soccer for children aged 4 through 19 living in the Copperopolis, Angels Camp, Murphys and Arnold areas.....

Calaveras County, CA....It’s time to start thinking about the next graduating senior class and their fun and exciting Sober Grad Night Party. Sober Grad Night began at Bret Harte in 1989. Those parents took the idea from Napa High School. Calaveras High joined in the fun in 1992. The purpose of Sober Grad Night is to keep our teenagers in a safe and chemical free environment, while giving them a fun graduation party at the same time. There have been no deaths or seniors....
