San Andreas, CA ... Miss Calaveras 2013 Chelsea Ruthrauff, a freshman at Sonoma State University majoring in biology, dreams of attending medical school to become a doctor. "I have been interested in medicine since I was in 7th grade, I discovered my passion during my senior year of high school," remembers Chelsea,"I had the chance to enroll in the ROP medical program at Calaveras High School and volunteer on the ambulance throughout the year. I learned a great deal of information about all kinds of patient care and what it is like to work in the medical field. I not only obtained my first aid and CPR certifications, but am now a certified phlebotomist (a person who draws blood). I have great expectations for my future in medicine."

Some Of The Great New Best Friends At The Shelter

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/18/2014 04:33 PM
San Andreas, CA....Rowdy is a about 4 months old and is a Pit Bull/Boxer mix who presently weighs in at 17 pounds.. Rowdy is a great puppy who loves to give kisses and play. He is pretty mild for a young pup, not too mouthy and so far, not much of a barker. He is more into play and affection. If you are looking for a cute puppy to snuggle and train, come down to the shelter and play with Rowdy. He is so cute, he won’t be here long. He will have to be neutered before going home. Please use Rowdy’s intake # A036784 when making inquiries at the shelter.

Gordo is a Terrier Mix possibly Rat Terrier mixed with Chihuahua . He is the perfect travel size at just under 12 lbs. He is only 8 mos old so still a puppy who needs to be reminded of the proper socialization skills. Perhaps a puppy class for the two of you would be fun. He is very friendly and loves to snuggle up in your lap. He tested negative for heartworm. Gordo will need to be neutered before going home with you. Please use Gordo’s intake #AO36793 when making inquiries at the shelter.

Mike Borean For Calaveras County Supervisor District Three

Posted by: thepinetree on 03/18/2014 03:06 PM
Murphys, CA...The Government Center is one of the first places a business investor will visit when determining if Calaveras County is a good place to do business. If an investor is met with lackluster customer service or given the run-a-round, that investor will look elsewhere. If a business owner finds it difficult to maintain a business here, he/she will consider moving elsewhere. We must strive to provide outstanding customer service; first, because it is the job of public servants to do so, but most importantly, it is good for business....
