Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! We will be opening more terrain this weekend as our Snow Making/Slope crew has been doing a great job getting Mokelumne West ready. We will be turning Kuma so Mokelume West will be open but all other runs off the summit will be closed so please heed our closures for you safety. Cub Meadow will also have some expanded terrain as well as the Panda Carpet for lessons and such. We will have some terrain park features also as well as Tubing so come on up and enjoy our "Pure Mountain Fun" ethos!!!!!! Stay tuned........

White Pines, CA....The 2nd Annual Christmas In White Pines Parade Of Lights & Holiday Festival picked up even more steam in its second year to become a fixture on the local Holiday Calendar. Santa, Hot Chocolate, Popcorn, Parade & More were featured along Blagen Road starting at Ace Hardware and ending at White Pines Park.
Avery, CA...Avery Christmas Tree Lighting takes place every year on the day after Thanksgiving. Last Friday, at 5:30 pm the Avery Community gathered for refreshments, caroling, cookies and coffee/hot chocolate. Santa Claus was there and was available for pictures with the kids. The Tree lighting ceremony started at 6:00 pm with Santa even lending a hand in the lighting of the tree.

Bear Valley, CA...A bit of weather moves across the Northern Sierra Nevada today and then we clear for tomorrow. Today: Mostly cloudy. Numerous snow showers and scattered rain showers in the morning, then scattered rain and snow showers in the afternoon. Not as cool. Highs 28 to 40 higher elevations... 39 to 45 lower elevations. Little or no snow accumulation lower elevations...up to 1 inch higher elevations. Snow level 4500 feet. Prevailing south winds up to 10 mph shifting to the west in the afternoon. Over ridges, prevailing west winds 15 to 25 mph decreasing to 5 to 15 mph in the afternoon. Tonight: Mostly clear. Colder. Lows 15 to 30 higher elevations...27 to 33 lower elevations. Prevailing northeast winds up to 15 mph.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 14" of new overnight as of 5am!!!!!! As the system slowed a bit last night it dropped more snow than forecasted.....Currently still snowing at 5am and we could pick up another 1-3" today. The high today is expected to be around 28F but I expect it to be a little colder than that. Winds will shift to the West this morning and be in the range of 10-20mph and decreasing thru Monday as the system exits East then a slight chance of snow Wednesday evening as the week looks to be clear and a bit on the cool side with the high for the week coming in around 40F and night time lows in the high teens and low 20's. Cub Chair will be the only Chair running this weekend with access only to Cub Meadow. Stay tuned........
