14 Inches Of New Overnight Snow!! Bear Valley Weather & Update By Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/27/2016 12:54 PM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 14" of new overnight as of 5am!!!!!! As the system slowed a bit last night it dropped more snow than forecasted.....Currently still snowing at 5am and we could pick up another 1-3" today. The high today is expected to be around 28F but I expect it to be a little colder than that. Winds will shift to the West this morning and be in the range of 10-20mph and decreasing thru Monday as the system exits East then a slight chance of snow Wednesday evening as the week looks to be clear and a bit on the cool side with the high for the week coming in around 40F and night time lows in the high teens and low 20's. Cub Chair will be the only Chair running this weekend with access only to Cub Meadow. Stay tuned........

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/26/2016 09:15 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! As the day begins clear skies will be in effect before the arrival of more snow. By 10am we could see snow start to fall and continue into Monday morning. 1-2" is expected today with another 4-8" tonight and then another possible 1-3" is on tap for Sunday. The high today could reach 35F and winds will increase from 11-20mph with gusts to 30mph as the system makes it's way into the area. This active pattern will spill over into Monday then we should see clearing on Tuesday with a return of more snow on Wednesday. Colder temps will be the thing over the next week so dress warm and brag yer gear. Cub Chair will be the only Chair running this weekend with access only to Cub Meadow. Winter is upon us and we're getting ready to share our "pure mountain fun" ethos.

Bear Valley, CA...Today is opening day for the 2016/17 ski season! 10 beginner trails are open and snowmobile groomed for cross country skiing and snowshoeing. We are super psyched to get open on this limited basis. It is a bit thin (9 inches) so perhaps leave your best skis at home. The store is really nicely stocked up for all of your winter needs. Hey Good People Are You Ready For "Pure Mountain Fun" ~ Bear Valley Update By Mattly Trent

Posted by: thepinetree on 11/22/2016 09:21 AM
Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! A beautiful morning on the tails of the passing weather system which left us with 6" of new snowfall for a season total of 11" and more on the way. Tonight we should see 2-4" of new snow and lingering snow showers for Wednesday as that system heads East and gives way to a beautiful crisp Sunny Thanksgiving Holiday. A return of a 2nd system on Friday will bring slightly warmer temps but snowfall is still expected. Continued unsettled weather will push into the begining of next week as the active pattern continues. Winter is not too far off and we're getting ready to share our "pure mountain fun" ethos.
