San Andreas, CA....The Calaveras County Board of Supervisors just voted 5-0 to move funds around enough for the county to order the temporary bridge to get White Pines Park the Moose Lodge and fully operational again. This should allow for full use for the bulk of the summer season. The final resolution varries slightly from what follows..."Adopt a Resolution to Direct the County Administrative Officer to identify funds for reimbursement to Public Works Roads and Bridges for the purchase and installation of a temporary bridge at Main Street (Blagen Road) crossing Big Trees Creek in White Pines. 2. Direct the Public Works Director to purchase a pre-engineered, manufactured bridge and execute contracts necessary to install, construct temporary approach roadways and place appropriate facilities for the installation of a temporary bridge. 3. Direct staff to process the purchase and installation of the temporary bridge to maximize the potential for Federal and State reimbursement. 4. Include temporary bridge in County’s Capital Asset inventory."

Supervisors Proclaim May 21 - 28, 2017 as Arnold Branch Library Week in Calaveras County. |
Posted by: thepinetree on 05/23/2017 10:00 AM

San Andreas, CA...From Calaveras County Librarian, Nancy Giddens. "Every successful venture has people who make it a success. Over the 50 years we celebrate this year, many people have worked hard to make the Arnold Branch Library a success. Although I have served as Calaveras County Librarian for just a year, it quickly became clear to me that the current success of the Arnold Branch Library is due primarily to the vision, passion and commitment of Fran Devlin, the Branch Assistant who has served that branch since 2008. Fran works tirelessly to serve the community of Arnold. Bonnie Doiel who serves on Fridays and Saturdays also gives great energy and enthusiasm to the branch. Both work with and through the community and the Arnold Friends of the Library group. Without them this branch would not be what it is today. Thank you Fran and Bonnie."
