Angels Camp, CA...Family and friends of Tracy Girard will be having a service Sunday at the Bret Harte multi purpose room at 2pm. Anyone is welcome. Then on Monday we will be having the funeral Monday at Skylawn in half moon bay at 3pm. The address for Bret Harte is 364 Murphys grade road, Angels camp CA 95222
Tracy passed away while on the lung transplant list. He fought with everything he had against a rare, lung disease. Below are a few details from the GoFundMe page set up for his benefit...
Arnold, CA...With April just around the corner and the pine needles and logs piling up, I need to bring the folks up to date on our lot cleaning issues and what to do with the waste. Red Hill Disposal site is up and running now with a linear grinder that will take logs up to 18” in diameter and cut to lengths no longer than 5 foot long. Shorter lengths are preferred for handling into the grinder. Pine needles are still accepted but will be stock piled according to our State Certification regulations. This limits the storage space on site so it’s best to call and see if they are accepting pine needles on busy days. Please remember that no commercial lot cleaning can use Red Hill Disposal at this time. Private lot owners can dispose of 2 cubic yards per day of green waste for free. Additional waste will be charged at a rate of $4.00 per cubic yard.

High School Artists Featured in annual Show at Calaveras Arts Council

San Andreas, CA...ArtSpirit, the 19th annual High School Juried Exhibition opened on March 4th in Calaveras Arts Council’s Gallery Store. Student artists are from Calaveras and Bret Harte high schools and submitted artwork created during their classroom sessions. The artwork was judged and ribbons are hung on the pieces in 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place in 10 different categories. The public is welcome to come in, view the show during regular gallery hours, Tuesday – Thursday from 11:00am to 6:00pm and Friday from 11:00am to 3:00pm. The show closes on Saturday, April 2. The gallery is located at 22 Main, San Andreas. Due to scheduling issues there will not be a reception however there are treats for those who visit the ArtSpirit exhibition.

Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! Snowing at 5am as the current storm system makes it's way over California. Looks like snow should start falling sometime in the next few hours. We expect 4-8" of new snow today during the day and another 1-3" tonight. winds will be around 22-40mph today with an expected high of 39F. During the day on Saturday it looks to be snow showery during the day and then 3-7" could fall Saturday night with another 5-9" during the day Sunday and another 9-13" Sunday night before things start to settle down. It's going to be an epic pow riding weekend so I suggest you get on up to Bear Valley and check out the goods of winter!! Come on up and experience the easiest drive to any resort on the west slope, all weather Highway 4, always open, easy and fun! Don't forget about our "Pure Mtn Fun" attitude because it's local, real and a whole lotta "PMF".
