Arnold, CA...In the first three years of my first four-year term as Supervisor for District 3 in Calaveras County, I am engaged in several areas regarding the welfare and the prosperity of Calaveras county. Those areas include the County budget, crime in the entire County and specifically in District 3, the business community, the building industry, the general plan update, our youth opportunities, our tourism and more importantly, the recent involvement of the regulation of cannabis and recreational use allowed by the state effective this year.

San Andreas, CA...PLANNING COMMISSION NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING. LEAD AGENCY: Calaveras County Planning Department, 891 Mountain Ranch Rd., San Andreas, CA 95249. MODIFICATION TO EXISTING PLANNED DEVELOPMENT PERMIT 2001-044 FOR THE ARNOLD BLACK BEAR INN This application proposes to amend condition II-8 of Planning Commission Resolution No. 01-68 approved on September 6, 2001. The resolution sets forth conditions for Planned Development Permit 2001-044 allowing the operation of a 5,105 sq. ft. 5-bedroom bed and breakfast, DBA “Arnold Black Bear Inn”, located at 1343 Oak Circle in Arnold. Currently, condition II-8 prohibits noise producing activities such as festivals, amplified music, receptions and group gatherings from occurring at the Inn. The proposed modification is to amend condition II-8 allowing events at the Inn upon approval of an Administrative Use Permit for Special Events.

CCWD Crews Complete Repairs in Big Trees Village

Arnold, CA...Dyemusica has been bringing original jam and reggae music to the motherlode since 2012. They have decided to disband due to health issues and as Kevin is leaving the state. Dyemusica are ardent supporters of local charities, have made original music and made many friends and they'd love for everyone to come out one last time to celebrate thier catalog of music and say goodbye to a Gold Country standard as they want to thank everyone for all the fun and memories!

Lake Alpine, CA...Caltrans crews have removed the winter snow, cleared the debris, made necessary repairs and will open State Route 4 (SR-4)/Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway at noon today (Friday, May 4, 2018). Ebbetts Pass rises to 8,730 feet, making it one of the highest passes in the Sierra with grades in excess of 23%, far exceeding typical highway grades of 6%. Our local maintenance crews would like to remind everyone to please drive safely over the pass. It’s still freezing at night and there could be icy spots.
