Minor Injury Accident Reported at Ebbetts Pass Road in Arnold |

CHP is reporting a non-injury collision at Ebbetts Pass Road at Ernest Street across from EPFD in Arnold. There were two vehicles involved. |

Three Fires Reported in The Ebbetts Pass Area This Week |

CAL Fire has just release three fire reports fires that occurred in the Ebbetts Pass area this week. The first was a small spot fire caused by an escaped debris burn on April 8th at 2713 Love Creek Road in Arnold. Fire was contained to a 50 x 50 foot vegetation spot. No dollar damage or injuries reported. The 2nd fire took place on April 10th at 1600 Vine Maple Drive in Forest Meadows. The fire was contained to the stove/oven unit. No dollar damage or injuries reported. Cause of the fire was cooking. The third was a chimney fire reported on April 10th at 1581 2nd Street in Arnold. Luckily, the fire was contained to the chimney. No dollar estimate or injuries reported. See fire reports enclosed.....

Angels Camp, CA...The path of the new Angels Camp Bypass is now clearly visible along most portions of the route. Heavy equipment has been moving trees and debris, crews have been setting fences, temporary construction sheds and offices are coming to life....

Hello Committee Members and Friends....This coming Saturday, April 12th, is the "BIG" White Pines Park clean-up. It has been quite a year for pine needles and tree branch fall. The Kafka's and the Ash's have already been hard at work and they had young people from the Probation Department for three days last week. So they have a real head start on the work. The Committee believes they can get almost everything done on the 12th if they have a good turnout....

Angels Camp, CA...The City of Angels hosted a presentation on Retail Economic Development to a packed house on Tuesday afternoon at the Angels Camp Fire House. The meeting lasted about two hours. Amy Wetzel with the Buxton Company made a presentation onvarious economic development strategies, ranging from small retailers to more traditional approaches with national chains. The Buxton Company is one of the largest retail placement and location scouting companies in the nation. They help companies pick locations and they also help communities and locations attract retailers. After the presentation the discussion really opened up with members of the public, Angels Camp City Council...

Hello to all you fishermen, ready and eager to get fishing. Sierra stream fishing opens Saturday, April 26, 2008. Access to the Stanislaus River will be limited to Calaveras Big Trees State Park and Boards Crossing Road in Dorrington. The Gate to Beaver Creek through Sourgrass crossing should be open by then. NCPA anticipates having Spicer open by Memorial weekend, depending on the snowmelt and weather. For an update on the road to Spicer you can call 209-728-1387. Alpine still has quite a bit of snow around it. Hobart Creek is not open until JULY 1ST 2008!.....
