Bear Valley, CA...Hey Good People! 3″ of new snow overnight to round out the current system for a storm total of 51″!!!!! Mostly cloudy today with a chance of snow showers after 11am and a high of 37F and a light South wind up to 8mph. Saturday we have a chance of mixed precipitation during the day with a high of 41F then Sunday during the day we can pick up another 3-7″ as that quick moving system will exit by late Sunday night/early Monday morning. High pressure ridging looks to return early next week and will be dry and above normal temps for that time frame. This a classic January snowfall pattern for us and It’s time for some skiing/riding my friends so come on up and enjoy some “Pure Mtn Fun”.

Back in the early 90’s, when Shawn was selling out of the back of his truck as “The Eddy Mart”, the most important items to have on hand were life jackets, river shorts, sandals and river knives. Oh yes, and a few things the rafting customers would want, t-shirts, hats, sunscreen, etc. It became obvious that The Eddy Mart was getting too big to operate out of a garage when the whitewater kayaks came. It was time for a storefront. That’s when providence arrived on the scene.

It was a happy but emotional occasion for Tim Bennett as Pioneer Electric has been part of his life since founding it 35 years ago. The business will be in familiar and capable hands as Troy has been part of the Pioneer Electric team for the last 16 years.

In preparation of the heavy rain and potential flooding predicted for this week the Calaveras County Office of Emergency Services and Public Works Department have stocked the following locations with sand bags and sand. Please limit the number of sand bags to 10 per resident and remember to bring your own shovel.

Blizzard Warning Above 6,500 Feet Beginning Wednesday Evening. Some Areas May Receive Up To 9 Feet of Snow

Arnold, CA...The National Weather Service in Sacramento has issued a Blizzard warning for our area. Carson, Ebbetts & Sonora Pass areas are forecast to receive the deepest layers of snow from these systems. Heavy snow expected above 5000 feet. Blizzard conditions expected above 6500 feet beginning Wednesday evening. Travel will be very difficult to impossible, including during the morning commute on Thursday. The combination of a heavy, wet snow with high winds may down power lines and trees. Between 5000 and 6500 feet, total snow accumulations of 2 to 3 feet, with localized amounts up to 4 feet, are expected. Above 6500 feet, heavier snowfall is likely with accumulations of 5 to 7 feet, locally up to 9 feet.
