Arnold, CA...Sunday Morning Road Conditions Update...Hwy 88 & 26 Closed, Controls on 88, 4, 108, 120 & 26. Hwy 4 to Bear Valley is open this morning so that should make many in the area very happy. Not only the skiers but the local business that need a good Presidents Day Weekend. Hwy 88 is closed at Peddler Hill so no access to Kirkwood from the west side. Chain Controls start at Utica Grade on Hwy 4, Sonora on Hwy 108 & just past Groveland on Hwy 120 into Yosemite. Hwy 26 is still closed between Glencoe & Westpoint do to mudslides and those in the West Point area will need to chain up to get to Amador County. Details are below..

Arnold, CA...PG&E Crews have continued their work in the wet and cold conditions getting customers back up and running. The Twain Harte area has the highest concentrations of outages with 27 outages with over 800 in the dark.

Back in the early 90’s, when Shawn was selling out of the back of his truck as “The Eddy Mart”, the most important items to have on hand were life jackets, river shorts, sandals and river knives. Oh yes, and a few things the rafting customers would want, t-shirts, hats, sunscreen, etc. It became obvious that The Eddy Mart was getting too big to operate out of a garage when the whitewater kayaks came. It was time for a storefront. That’s when providence arrived on the scene.

Arnold, CA...Hwy 88 is still closed at the Carson Spur before Kirkwood and in something we haven't seen in 13 years of ThePineTree.net's history a closure of Hwy 4 for an extended period of time before Bear Valley. It is minute to minute on reopening time and click our weather page for the latest. At this time is still closed in the Big Meadow area due with a listed cause of flooding. Very tough way economically for our area to start Presidents Day Weekend...details are below.

Arnold, CA...(Update as of 1:06pm...After earlier optimism it looks like they may be losing the battle to get the road open in time for recreation today. As of their 1pm update the flooding and snow. Some areas as much as 3ft deep.) Traffic Update.....Hwy 4 on Track for Reopening Soon.. As of 8am a backhoe was on the way to help divert the roadway flooding and then reopening looks to be on tap.

Hwy 88 Grid Struggling Today as 14,031 Without Power in Our Area

Arnold, CA...At this time there are 14,031 outages in Amador, Alpine, Calaveras & TuToday the center of the outage gravity has shifted north with much of the Hwy 88 corridor dark at this time. Outages continue to affect the West Point area as well. West Point and the North East section of Calaveras County's Grid typically follow Amador County's outages. PG&E Crews have been hard at work through these storms and today is no exception.

Arnold, CA...As we head into the overnight hours the largest single block of outages is in the West Point area with over 1,500 in that area. Great work by the PG&E crews has dropped the outages from over 14,000 this morning.
