Stanislaus National Forest Extends Closure Order for Some Storm Damaged Roads

Sonora, CA...The Closure identifies 10 roads and one day use area and is extended to Dec. 31, 2020. Stanislaus National Forest Supervisor Jason Kuiken signed forest order STF-16-2019-08, amending the forest areas closed due to the 2016-2017 winter storms. The original forest order, STF-16-2017-03 was signed April 24, 2017 and expired in December 2018. The new closure order is scheduled to expire Dec. 31, 2020.
Ebbetts Pass/State Route 4 Opens For the Summer Season

Bear Valley, CA...The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) has removed the winter snow, cleared the debris, made necessary repairs and opened State Route 4 (SR4)/Ebbetts Pass National Scenic Byway at noon on Thursday, May 30, 2019. Caltrans manages three trans-Sierra passes in the Central Sierra that are closed during winter and generally open in spring: Ebbetts Pass/SR-4 in Alpine County, Sonora Pass/SR-108 (Tuolumne County) and Monitor Pass/SR-89 (Alpine County). State Route 120/Tioga Pass is a 12 mile section from US Highway 395 to the Yosemite National Park east entrance gate. Caltrans crews have cleared the snow, removed loose rocks, and completed road repairs from the record breaking snow fall this past winter. Tioga Road and the east entrance gate to Yosemite National Park remains closed. Park road crews continue to clear snow and make road repairs. West Point, CA...West Point, CA...Surrounded by her loving family, Gladys Mae Jeff, 74, entered into rest on May 27, 2019 in Manteca, Ca. She was born November 26, 1944 in Sonora, California to the late Manuel and Eva Jeff. Gladys preceded in death by her siblings David Jeff and Frances Grow. Ms. Jeff is survived by her children; Brian Dunlap, Berry Montch Jeff and Daveen Williams (Doug). She was blessed by nine grandchildren; Raquel Williams (Jimmie), Asumute Williams, Isabella Williams, Kyle Dunlap, Adam Dunlap, Alex Dunlap, Autumn Vallerga, Dreama Vallerga and Cheyenne Jeff. She has one surviving sister Mildred Burley as well as many nieces and nephews who loved her dearly.
