Derby, KS... Ellen Buchholtz (Williams) (Formerly of Arnold & Salinas, California), passed away October 3, 2013. Ellen was a beloved wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt to her family & friends. Ellen was born in Huntsville, Arkansas in 1942, and was preceded in death by her father Williams P. Williams, mother Linnie May Williams, husband Bobby Buchholtz, brother Gerald Lynn Williams, and Angel her Malamute. She is survived by her devoted daughter Julie Brown & son-in-law Christopher Brown, grand-daughter Rachel Smith, grandson Thomas Clifton, great-grand daughter Audrey Smith, brother & sister-in-law Glendon & Joyce Williams, brother & sister-in-law George & Joanne Williams, brother & sister-in-law Gary & Michelle Williams, sister-in-law Darrell Jean Williams, son Richard, and many beloved aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces & nephews. Ellen worked as a Florist in Salinas & Arnold, California in the 1980 & 90's. She was a true artist at heart. Ellen enjoyed painting, creating unique art pieces, and spent the last 20 years of her life designing almost 100 quilts for family, friends and colleagues...

White Pines, CA....This is the third in a series of news to the community from the Ebbetts Pass Moose Lodge. September was a very busy month for us, with the Nevada-California. Annual Convention, where we were again awarded the Legion Lodge Award, Signifying Best in the Area!! We renovated our lodge to give more room for our Pool Player’s and greater seating capacity for our members in the “Social Quarters”.

| Arnold, CA...Exploring the newly released Apple products, and those in the near future, will be the major topic when the Sierra Macintosh Users Group (SMUG) gathers for its Tuesday, October 8 meeting that will begin at 7 p.m. in the assembly room of the Ebbetts Pass Fire District, 1037 Blagen Rd., just off Highway 4. Brian Thomas, Technology Specialist and Trainer for the Calaveras County Office of Education, will be making the presentation and leading the discussion. In addition to talking about the new products, he will also help audience members learn to get the most out of the ones they have. |

Clancy & Zena Are Waiting For You |

San Andreas, CA...Clancy is not only handsome and intelligent, he is full of energy. Clancy is a Rotti cross that is between 1-2 years old and needs lots of training to learn to be a gentleman. Actually he is like a gangly teenager who is not yet totally coordinated. Zena is an American Pit Bull Terrier who is about 6-8 months old. She is grey with a little white and currently weights about 45 lbs but will likely grow a bit more. She has a delicate (almost dainty) build for this breed. She is friendly and playful as well as smart and eager to please.

Murphys, CA....George Duda died Thursday, Sept. 26, 2013, at his residence in Murphys. He was 89. He was born Nov. 12, 1923, in Lorain, Ohio. Mr. Duda was a 50-year resident of Murphys. For 50 years, he owned a construction company that built residential and commercial buildings. He also built boats and airplanes for the U.S. Navy out of Pensacola, Fla. He was a philanthropist and an avid fisherman and golfer. He was also a strong supporter of the Highway 4 corridor....
