Big Trees, CA...Calaveras Big Trees State Park -- Dr. Jerry Smith from San Jose State University presents information gained from on-going ecological research in Yosemite. You will see photographs of the same sites that have been repeatedly surveyed. Such long-term research allows scientists to document subtle changes in this fragile sub alpine ecosystem. An earlier report on this research was presented by Dr. Smith at Yosemite National Park....

San Andreas, CA...Daisy Mae is a lover from the word go. She's a pretty black and tan Rottweiler mix about 10-12 months old and weighing 51 pounds. Clancy is not only handsome and intelligent, he is full of energy. Clancy is a Rotti cross that is between 1-2 years old and needs lots of training to learn to be a gentleman. Actually he is like a gangly teenager who is not yet totally coordinated. Chili is a young male of mixed breed. His tri-coloring suggests he is a Beagle. But he has features that suggest other breeds too. This makes him a very interesting puppy indeed....

| San Andreas, CA....Calaveras County Public Health is observing SIDS Awareness Month in October. SIDS (Sudden Infant Death Syndrome) is the sudden, unexpected death of a baby younger than one year of age when there is no other reason for the death. SIDS is the leading cause of death among infants between one month and one year of age. “SIDS Awareness Month is a time for Public Health to bring information to families about ways to lessen the risk of SIDS,” stated Dr. Dean Kelaita, Calaveras County Health Officer.... |

Karaoke National Championships Held at Black Oak Casino This Last Weekend |

Tuolumne City, CA... The Karaoke National Championships were held over the weekend at Black Oak Casino. Kim Evans, of Arnold, won the Nationals and will be going to Finland in November. Kim will be the only female, along with the male national winner, who will be representing the U.S. in the Karaoke World Championships....
